I get hella stoned and watch Foodfight! at least once a year. It’s my “favorite” movie.

Everything about it, from the implied beastiality between Charlie Sheen and Hillary Duff, to the weird gay bat, to the shitweasel is a masterclass in what not to do in a movie. It transcends badness and becomes something sublime. The entire plot is about how store brands/generics are Nazis, and one of the Nazis absolutely chews the scenery in a way that makes Brian Blessed look reserved.

Stuff I haven’t seen mentioned yet:

1984 Dune. It’s one of my favorite movies period.

Return of the Killer Tomatoes is on my top 10 favorite bad movies I’d say. Top 20 at least.

    The Tune (Bill Plympton movie).

Clue (and very similar Murder By Death)

    Empire Records

    Cool as Ice (Rifftrax edition)

Actually, on that front - The Room + Birdemic (Rifftrax edition)

    Zardoz

    Original Little Shop of Horrors

Super Mario Bros. 1993. It is by far the movie that puts the biggest “fun” smile on my face, especially when watching it stoned. It’s so goofy in the best way and comes across as funny in a way that makes me have fun with it every time.

I mentioned Rifftrax in another comment, but the Rifftrax version of this and Street Fighter are two of my favorite things ever.

the amount of slime in that movie makes it impossible for me to watch stoned. Like, if I got that slimey, while stoned, I would be freaking the fuck out. Great movie though. I still love John Luigi-zamo

Velocipastor is an amazing bad movie that intended to be bad. There’s even a scene where a car explodes and it’s just some text that says “VFX of car exploding”

It’s about a pastor that can turn into a velociraptor… When there’s gore it’s like obviously fake, like a head rolls off and it’s clear as day that it’s a mannequin head. It’s so bad it’s amazing.

Oh yeah, and there are ninjas.

The Cat in the Hat (2004) is my pick. I loved it as a kid and I still love it as an adult. Lots of humor for all ages and all the practical props and sets are so neat.

By all accounts The Boondock Saints is a “bad” movie but we all watched it when we were 12 and thought it was fucking awesome and still do.

That Speed Racer movie that the Wachowskis made. I’m not gonna pretend it’s underrated, and I’m not gonna try to convince you to like it. They made it for me and me alone.

Probably Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, but honorable mention to Chopping Mall and Primo Baby for being so terrible they’re amusing.

Any number of MST3K movies - some of my favourites include Time Chasers, Pod People, Space Mutiny, Skydivers, Red Zone Cuba, Mitchell, Angels’ Revenge, Manos: The Hands of Fate, Horror of Party Beach, The Horrors of Spider Island, The Touch of Satan…

Non-MST3K - Miami Connection, Last Samurai, The Room, and a very recent discovery, an absolutely batshit crazy Spanish/Italian horror film, Tragic Ceremony.

The internet loves to shit on it. I’ve always enjoyed it. It’s a visual/audio treat.

the extended cut is a genuinely compelling narrative on top of the impressive variety of aesthetics & action sequences. folks are welcome to find it cringey and overdone but that’s a matter of taste. it’s a little too porny for me as a grown ass man but i thought it was great fun as a teen, go figure.

the pg-13 theatrical cut was hot dog water that left the emotional climax of the film on the cutting room floor.

See I never got that either. There is some kind of story about escapism and dealing with trauma in there, but it’s definitely second fiddle to the fact that you get to see badass ladies with samurai swords running a bunny mech through ww1 trenches and fighting giant samurai with a gatling gun. Sure it’s dumb, but so is Fast and Furious

It’s a genius retelling of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. It’s also schlocky, pointless, fanservice-y action. It’s dumb and I kind of love it.
