I get what you’re going for, but there are plenty of people that did vote for him for the economy and the like. There are plenty I’m sure that voted because of anti-lgbt issues without a doubt. But casting this blanket statement of “they all” like every single trump voter went to the polls and said “Gee I’d love healthcare, but those gays are a real problem” is dangerous rhetoric. This “us vs them” mentality is what makes things so difficult and divisive in the first place.

You’re not going to win people over to your point of view if you lump every single person who doesn’t already agree with you under the “racist bigot” umbrella.

Is there hate in their ranks? Sure. Do I think everyone who put trump on their vote card hates LGBT people and anyone not matching their race? No.

I get being upset but they won the election. And if we sit here going “We don’t want you anyway bigot!” They’re gonna win again. It’s just not a healthy mentality to have in a dialogue.

Edit: also not really what the article was about. People did vote for him cause he said he’d lower prices and fix the economy, and he is failing to do that. This is an opportunity to point out his lies and welcome people to a different viewpoint, not slam the door in their face.

Eh, it’s also a bit of a teaching opportunity with kids. A decent parent will teach kids which things are okay to hit and which ones aren’t, and this is something that can help with that. Someone’s probably going to get hit once or twice yeah. But kids also get mad when they can’t stick forks in outlets. I don’t see this toy being any worse than a sword or gun toy.

It’s not like “oh dear God” levels of bitter but it’s enough to just be like “pteh ew” and spit it out.

I don’t sympathize with this dudes rhetoric at all, just adding that from his mouth movements he does seem to be making an “m” sound not an “n” sound with his mouth.

He’s probably still really racist, but I’ve got racist family and if they ever decide to drop a “hard r” you can see it in their face. I do think it was a case of trying to say “immigrants”, flubbing it, then just saying “migrants” because he realizes what it sounds like. Even the forced laughter afterwards has a sort of “oh shit that didn’t sound good” vibe to it.

Again, not defending this guy. But we have to remember, all sides of politics can spin stuff to fit their agenda, so we have to be discreet in our decisions and judgements, that’s how we stand apart from all the people just sucking down the news as gospel truth.

Also sounds like you had a crappy realtor. If you’re using a realtor, get them to work for you, that’s what they’re for. Give them the specs of the house you’re looking for, sure, but they should be calling you with listings, vetting the homes before they show them to you, handling negotiation relays and inspection setups, etc.

Just general advice, yes you pay them, but if they aren’t working for you, pay someone else.

Yeah my best guess here is the possibility of someone being suicidal anyway and deciding to commit a hate crime to go out as some sort of half-assed martyr, or as some idiot that spent too long on the message boards and decided to “defend America” by committing a hate crime. Either way, an idiot that has signed a receipt for “I won’t be missed”

I see what you’re getting at, but the point of keeping this person anonymous is to lessen their ability to be used by people as a symbol or turn them into a martyr. It’s far easier for bigots to say “remember Joe Johnson, we fight for him or whatever” and spin it their way than it is to say “remember that guy who shot the guy who hung up a flag? He’s our man!”

Not tying a name to the criminal prevents them from being immortalized because they’re not “Joe the defender” or whatever, they’re “a murderer”. There will still be bigots out there for sure, but leaving this person nameless gives them one less thing to latch on to.
