I posted this comment on the same meme in a different comm, but it’s worth saying again:

I’m a big proponent of “showing your weird” – I’ve always liked weird people because they don’t appear to be hiding anything, they just have a genuine quality normal people don’t, whereas people who seem “perfect” or “normal” (whatever that means) are often too good to be true, and are fucked up in a way they have to hide.

I’ve had success showing my weird; it weeds out those who would not want me, and that prevents wasted time and energy on something that’d never work.

All this being said, if I were on a date with a person and they started doing this, well, I’d be extremely interested.

This thread is completely devoid of map sea monster facts and that’s a travesty

I never wondered why the map sea monsters were placed in the locations that they were placed in.

I am now wondering why the map sea monsters were placed in the locations that they were placed in.

That’s what I’ve always done when I draw old maps. Hope I haven’t been doing it wrong this whole time.

one interesting reason is drew monsters where they didn’t want people to go like their fishing spots

(the monsters were an indication that the sea was dangerous there)

They didn’t know what was there so they made pretty art… thats basically the gist of it… so yeah… you got the introduction in a sentence…

Not hating 27 minutes is either to much or or not enough… but in this case not the right person

She was probably turned off by the fact that they aren’t maps, but rather nautical charts. :(

Maybe not 🧐 enough detail on their typology? Did you discuss their independent emergence in various unrelated mapping traditions?

It must be not discussing their emergence in various distinct mapping traditions.
