I don’t get it. I’m over Gen X over 50 and don’t have this problem. Plenty of misadventure bending and breaking things because stupid when I was younger. What is wrong with you all?
Moving can’t hurt if you never move.

Standing desk squad got beef yo
standing desk squad got the best chairs
Tell that to my horrible sitting posture.🦐
you dream of The Emperor too?
Helped a mate drag a washing machine from the attic the other day. My body is broken.
Whoever decided attics are a good place to put washing machines can go fuck his entire self and then some.
um. that was a unique decision, friend. you leave those on ground level or push them into the basement for all the reasons your back is currently telling you.
if that was your mate’s decision, like they designed the house or something, we need to think up the worst swears for them. fuck isn’t strong enough. i’d probably end up on “well poop”
Several months ago, I was moving some boxes in the attic and torqued my lower back just wrong. Felt like I had a spear stabbed into me. Could barely move. Had to park myself on a heating pad and take a liver-destroying dose of an NSAID to recover.
huh, so my dad had back problems his entire life. he trained me to put cold on my back if i hurt it. basically, if there’s a pinched nerve, the cold reduces the inflammation. eases the pressure. whereas heat expands everything, and could (doesn’t always) increase the pinch on the nerve or cause a spasm.
and y’know, what you’re taught as a kid is what you think is normal. has putting heat on your back ever caused it to get worse? more i think about it the more that sounds bullshit to me.
Some recommend heat, some recommend cold, some recommend alternating between them. My back was ‘seizing up’ and the heat seemed to relax it. I mostly think it’s just something to do while waiting for the drugs to kick in.
The little “ow” in the bottom right got me.

If you really did this at work, make sure they know and report. Then you can get medical care on their dime.

I’m only 40 but my body feels like I’m 80. I moved apartments 2 years ago, 3rd floor to 3rd floor. I literally almost died, my chest was pounding I couldn’t stand I was struggling to breath. I ended up laying on the floor for about an hour, being wiped with wet washcloths to stay cool and trying to drink plenty of water.

Take care of your body, mine is too late but hopefully you still have time.
It’s never too late to get in shape, but 40 is a really long way from being too late to get in shape.
My lungs are fucked from smoking, my liver is fucked by drinking, my internal organs are fucked by poor nutrition, my mind is fucked by well… Everything
It’s bots just shape, it’s every aspect of my body… Take care of yourselves kids!
Lol it wasn’t serious. Little bruise and a reminder that my body doesn’t enjoy that kind of abuse the way it used to. I should probably stay out of mosh pits from now on. But I’m learning that I can’t rely on youthful energy, caffeine, and processed sugar to get me through life anymore and I’m taking steps to keep myself in shape.
Ok, if it was just a minor bump I wouldn’t worry about it. I know I sometimes sit wrong and can’t walk right for a few days.
