Apologies if the wrong community, if there’s a better suited one, please point me to it!

But, I figure we all buy USB-C cables, and being a progressive group of folks maybe someone has a suggestion so I cause slightly less waste pollution and waste? Here’s hoping!

Edit: Allrighty, apparently I’m just rough on all my usb cables OR you have all teamed up to prank me.

I think the lesson to be learned from these comments is if all of your cords keep breaking, they probably aren’t the problem.

UGreen cables for charging (switched from Anker after Eufy shit)

CablesMatter for everything else (HDMI, Display port, usb for data, etc).

As with anything, you have to take care of it. Cables are fragile. If you’re wadding them up in a ball, letting the cable bend at the connector funny or ripping the cable out, the cable will break eventually. Braided cables are more resistant to abuse, but not invincible.

Anker! They are super good quality and have a phenomenal warranty/replacement program that’s so easy to deal with

I guess it depends on what you mean by “reasonable”. :)

The last batch of cables I bought were a) braided and b) had right angle connectors.

They’ve lasted long enough that I can’t remember when I bought them.

I buy cables that have a braided wrap around them if I buy them at all. I’ve had so many come with phones and other crap. The only reason why I’ve bought a couple of others is because I needed some long ones.

JSAUX makes the most durable. I have 3 kids that are hard on them. Nothing else has lasted as long as those.

I got that Microsoft Nokia Lumia dock back in the days. It came with 2 thunderbolt 3 USB C to USB C cables. I still use them. They are the best cables I ever owned. I love these cables. They are the best cables in the world. They are so good, they make other cables look like waste products. [Trump mode off] they even are bitter coated.

BUT: I’ve also owned iPhones since the X and the very first cable still looks new despite being the only source of internet my gaming PC has.

I bought a handful of 15 foot USBC braided cables with a right angle on one end. Only one died and thats because I rolled over the tip with my desk chair on accident.

I’ve never had a cable break on me, I still have micro b charging cables from old Samsung’s that still work and aren’t damaged.

Maybe try looking after your stuff?

What an interesting pair of choices; “I’m going to look into a month old asklemmy thread to be kind of dick.”

You must be a fascinating person with a thriving social life.

      Cheers.

I sort by top month, I’m sorry if that offends you.

I’m also just saying if you are gentle with your cables and look after them they should last?

I use VR Link Cables. They’re rigid and heavy duty. I’ve only had one go bad, and that’s because my kitten chewed it.
