Is this is for work, you might want to look up “capsule wardrobe.” This gives you wardrobe to mix and match that looks like you have bunch of clothes when you don’t. You really don’t need to keep up with main stream fashion. Any pressure to do so is just societal pressure and you don’t have to align with it.
I buy cables that have a braided wrap around them if I buy them at all. I’ve had so many come with phones and other crap. The only reason why I’ve bought a couple of others is because I needed some long ones.
My main computer is a 500$ laptop that I use for writing, bills, shipping, etc. My gaming laptop comes out maybe once a week.
Having a kid has helped me learn and realize so much about myself and my life that I wouldn’t have been able to learn otherwise. The same can be said about many of my other major life experiences. Sometimes I miss being alone and being able to do whatever the fuck I want, but I realize I’m still learning how to balance my life and seeing my child every day makes me happy (even if she is going through a hellion phase).
No tips on catching live bugs, but if you’re in a apartment situation it’s possible roaches can come from neighboring apartments. (they can even swim up pipes into your sink apparently). I had an apartment where I did the same and I still had issues. I looked under my sink and saw a big hole around where the pipe went into the wall. I bought some foaming insulation and filled in that gap. After a couple days I never saw the fuckers again. So check for any avenues where they can be traveling between units.

Keep trying! It’ll get easier. I remember having similar issues. There was so much I wanted but I could barely afford the essentials on minimum wage. I still bought dumb shit and some of it I was glad I said fuck it and bought. But coming up with “qualifying questions” and sticking to them helped. And the more I said no to purchases, the easier it got. The number one question I would ask myself before I bought something is “will I actually use it?”
Also consider places like thrift stores for household stuff at a cheaper price. Yard sales are also good but try to catch them on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. And make a list of things you need. Then that way if you see a good sale or see something at the thrift store you can say “This is on my list of things I need/want, yes I can buy this.”
Another thing you can do when online shopping, especially if it’s over like 20$ or something (you set that limit), is put it in your “cart” and wait 24 hours. That will stop impulse buys. If you see something at the store, tell yourself that you’ll sleep on it and if you really want it you’ll come back tomorrow and get it.
I’m sure there are more/better tactics but these are what helped me. But yes, the way things are structured in our society everything is seeking to convince us we need all this shit by hyping it up or putting it on fake sales or and using tons of other psychology tactics to get us to buy. Try your best to ignore the hypes and commercials and delay before buying. By delaying it gives you a chance to get away from those tactics, look at the product again when those tactics are not immediately pressing, and it helps you make an objective decision. It’s hard at first but it gets easier each time you do it.
Now I have a new goal in life.

I just wanted to add that a reverse osmosis system would bypass the lead and I think everything else there in your drinking water. If you are going to have kids in the house then you need to fix the lead issue because especially little ones will drink the bath water.
But yes, knowing why you have that much lead in your water and the source is important. It could be lead pipes or soldering. From my own research I found that, especially if it is an older well, if there is a lead packer installed down in the well then you’ll have to get it lined at some point to stop the problem.
