  • News outlets taking quotes from company PR/employees and including them alongside facts about reality. “Company x does something horrible, here is the data. Meanwhile, the CEO says it’s inaccurate because bs reasonexcuse.”. So much of corporate media is this, we’ve nearly lost the expectation a news outlet have any sense of responsibility outside of an easy quote from the paid company representative. Every single employee quote should come with footer “but of course this person does pay their mortgage based on saying whatever the companies needs it to to continue doing what benefits it the most so this is idiotically biased”.

  • I mean, I think he will ultimately fail to affront the first amendment.

As has been eagerly demonstrated by for-profit companies and their lackies, many in the US are happy to self-censor. The chilling effect will be more than sufficient, as has already been shown, to subvert anything left of a “free press”, and individuals will have all the weight of the economic and political power imbalance thrown at them to make an example and this will chill speech, as the Columbia Student kidnapping by the brownshirts shows.

  • It’s not just sk and Japan, China is now incentivizing women and families with improved social programs and economics, along with propaganda because they have the same problem the rest of the industrialized world does–no one can afford to have kids and many are miserable in capitalist or dictatorial hellholes. Southern Europe, has some of the lowest birthrates in the world, Italy, Spain but they have had some immigration (which largely also has been accompanied by racism and move to the right).

The US is seriously throwing away its incredible competitive advantage in that people were still moving here. When that stops, our actual population will go into decline which will destroy our economy(or what’s left of it) and everything will be a firestorm faster–and instead of the 🥕 approach of course the facts will take the stick and tell Americans to work until they die and kill social security.

  • The article refers to “credit card balance”, which aligns to the standard industry statistic of whether a consumer carries a balance (doesn’t pay off their card in full each month, pays interest, gets hosed, is incredibly profitable for banks) or doesn’t (what the credit card companies refer to as a “deadbeat” as they don’t generate much profit and some even are a loss.

That said, who cares about a selection bias volunteer survey with the sample size of an Elememtary school? 1,000 people, seriously? The hell is this 1925? Bullshit non-data and article.
