Could it be a landlord situation? It’s pretty cheap to open an LLC. Sometimes landlords will open many of them, an LLC for every rental property they own. It protects them from liability. If something goes really wrong and a tenant sues them for big $$$, the most they risk losing is the single rental house the tenant is renting.

MAGA will decide they want to deport Irish-Americans. Ireland will respond by saying they don’t let people claim residency that many generations back. MAGA will piss and moan. Eventually they will make a deal with the UK government. The UK government will build a large prison camp in Northern Ireland, right near the border with the Republic of Ireland. Irish Americans will be banished to the camp, in direct line of site from ROI land, until such time as ROI willingly accepts them in as refugees.

They could work to remove the destitution and desperation of working people. But if their workers weren’t in such dire straits, then they wouldn’t have so much power over them. Workers with good pay and a healthy work-life balance also have more time to pursue unionization and other political activities. Even if improving the lives of the people would objectively increase the wealth of the ultra-rich, it would still decrease their power. And ultimately, the only reason people ever obtain that level of wealth is because they desire power more than anything else. People who aren’t power-hungry monsters cash out and retire early long before they reach billionaire status.

Trans women experience misogyny. Most transphobia is rooted in misogyny. If you’re subject to misogyny, you should count towards female hiring quotas.

I think we shouldn’t even have legal names anymore. Nor legal sex/gender. Why does the government even need to keep track of my name at all? Maybe we just have a number tied to our biometric data. Maybe our profile is just defined facial scans, iris scans, thumb scans, and, for ultimate proof, our DNA profile. The state has a profile number on you that ties you to your biometrics. That sounds scary, but the government already has a profile on you if you have any kind of state-issued ID. And states are already collecting biometric data on their citizens.

We could simply tie all state business to an ID number and biometric data profile. When doing a transaction with some other party, the same biometrics could be used to prove your ID. Buying beer at the store? You hand the cashier a card that has your photo and ID number on it. They can type that number in their computer, query a state database, and return your age. Opening a bank account? Prove your ID with ID card and at least two forms of biometric scan. Signing up for a mortgage? Prove your identity with a DNA test.

We don’t even need legal names. Or legal genders. Let’s just do everything with biometric data, photo IDs, and other methods devoid of all the cultural baggage. Let people call themselves whatever they want. Let others choose how to honor that choice.

You want to change your gender? Have at it, the state doesn’t care about your sex or gender at all. It doesn’t even keep track of it. Give your kid a stupid name? At any time, they can start telling their friends to call them by a different one And that new name will instantly have all the legal power as the one their parents gave them - none whatsoever. The state will no longer tell us what our names are. Our words and character will do that instead.

Maybe. Maybe not. The bystander effect is real. And they have something to lose. If I’m being disappeared off to a death camp somewhere, I literally have nothing to lose.

I’m really torn on this. As a trans person, I’m a member of one of the groups most targeted by the regime. I’ve wanted nothing to do with firearms in the past, because frankly, I’ve dealt with a lot of depression at times in my life. Never enough to have any attempts, but enough to really give me pause about owning a weapon. The only weapons I want to own are fantasy props I make in my wood shop. I’m the exact opposite of a violent person. I am an educator; my greatest joy in life is when I can see my lessons spark the light of knowledge in others. Truthfully, I want nothing to do with firearms.

But this environment really makes me wonder. I would honestly rather die than be shipped off to be raped to death in some hellhole in El Salvadore. I would not survive long in a place like that.

I am very conflicted on this. Fuck this world. These are the kinds of choices no one should ever have to make. The world has gone mad.

The point is there are only so many ICE goons out there. If every person they tried to disappear took one of the bastards with them, this would end pretty damn quick.
