One thing about tech workers is historically they will crunch themselves hard to minimize downtime and meet deadlines because they care about their code and infrastructure. That totally breaks down when they see a bunch of their friends get shitcanned or sees their company making greedy decisions at the expense of their employees.

I feel the exact same way and work in the same field…it sucks for my work life personally but is a giant step in the right direction and I take the burden willingly. But it is gonna be a pain…most all data isn’t used maliciously but it is everywhere and all directions. Cleaning it up has been tough enough with the EU regulations but this law only will reinforce that data custody is something that has to be taken very seriously…which in a roundabout way will make life easier, eventually.

In Germany, you can be driving straight down a road and someone can pull out onto the road from a turn and you have to yield to them. It seems extremely dangerous. Also, stop lights are directly above you, instead of across the street so if you’re looking at the stop light you can’t really pay attention very well to the traffic in the intersection.

A lot of stuff makes a lot more sense but these two things seem illogical to me.

China also has planned a manned mission to the moon by the end of the decade and all of these countries (India, Russia, US and China) are all targeting the Moon’s south pole which is much more treacherous in terms of geographic features than previous Moon missions. The south pole has frozen water deposits and the eventual goal is to use this area as a refueling station for exploration further out into the solar system. Pretty exciting times!
