Apple is better than many, but let’s say you have an iPhone. The iPhone is constantly reaching out and reporting it’s location to the findmy app that is only accessible by the users. If that phone is in a cave performing this test, it will be reaching out continuously similar to this car. Apple doesn’t sell that data, but where it becomes a breach of privacy is that if a judge gives a warrant, Apple has to turn it over. (So suddenly it isn’t only accessible to the user meaning verification is NORMALLY required to allow Apple to access the data, but they could bypass said verification.

So does that mean no one should ever enable find my on their devices… Maybe, but people weigh it against whatever they find useful about it.

I’m not understanding how being able to support say a 5tb hard drive during boot is the same as forcing AI on us. Can you extrapolate on what you mean there? Yeah I’ve never had colors but we used to run them in offices when we needed and we would just label the patch panels and wires and id just tape the ends and mark a sharpie like A1, A2,…A8, B1 etc when pulling, where A would be room and number would be the port. Then if you had multiple racks/closets we would do something like 224-C4 on the plate side, so you could say this is patched in in room 224, rack C, switch 4.

Patch cable is stranded so it is pretty flexible. I can’t imagine you’ll need to redo one unless some nefarious animal starts gnawing on something.

I thought UEFI was just a solution to move to be able to work on GPT. Essentially the old setup (MBR)could only max out at 2.2 terabytes of storage, so if you needed more you were hosed. GPT can support magnitudes more storage and could support a lot more partitions. (Instead of 4, you could do say 32 without issue)

Yeah the guy fucked up. Id also say the company fucked up if they didn’t have the cards auto sending receipts from purchases somewhere as well.
