  • Why is Musk mad at AsmonGold? Did he dunk on Elon for paying others to play his account?

I just… Fail to see the reason Elon should dedicate his time to fighting with a neet shut in. Asmon turned off donations on his stream. He doesn’t care about money, political influence, or bathing. Just games. What possible gain would there be in trying to mess with him? The richest person to have ever existed in history, in a slap fight with a dude that lives in a dirty hovel? It almost sounds like trying to fight Diogenes.

And exposing his editors isn’t the “gotcha” you think it is. They just protect him from YouTube’s crappy rules.

  • I used to sell books at Borders (so far before MAGA crap) and you are 100% correct. Most men were reading books as well, but they really didn’t gravitate to Ann Rice’s vampire series, Twilight, or even most mystery books. Is was Sci Fi, fantasy, history, general knowledge sort of stuff.

The sheer volume of women buying romance novels was staggering, and I think speaks more to porn habits than anything. These women kept the store alive long enough for corporate to fuck up and bankrupt themselves.

Now that I think about it, there was a whole row of JUST Star Wars books. But because Disney erased so much of the Expanded Universe canon that they wrote, they all faded away. I don’t even have one in my local Barnes and Noble. Not even a single novel, from what I saw. Everyone totally lost interest and Disney doesn’t care to rekindle that spark.

  • Computer usage doesn’t determine that you spell it with a k.

A disk is indeed short for diskette, and disc is short for discus.

However, you can absolutely use a compact disc on a computer.

And while there are typically spinning platters or spinning magnetic strips inside hard drive disks or floppy disks, they are referred to by the whole unit as a logical disk drive that you’d see in computer.

If it’s possible to find them all now, you’d see that DVDs, CDs, Blu-ray, laserdisc, are all spelled like discus. 3.5, 4.5 floppy disks, hard drives, solid state drives, tape drives, etc all spell it disk.

So for the most part, being purely observational, you can see that anything shaped like a frisbee with a hole in it will be a disc, and everything else is a disk.

I think that’s slightly different than your explanation, as the terms are mutually exclusive.

  • It’s a “family heirloom” as my grandfather had it in WWII for the 45th infantry. So I wouldn’t want to dispose of it, but I can see my initial fears may be a bit overblown. I’m keeping it on a shelf in the garage, far away from normal foot traffic. That should be more than sufficient, it sounds.

I definitely used it while camping once, but thankfully no one’s messed with it for decades as we wanted to preserve it. I checked the shelf and there’s no residual radiation where it sits, so I think I’ll just let it be. Everyone in the family is aware that it’s the highest radioactive thing in the house, and that it’s still fairly low.

    Thank you for your help!
