    Probably murican and the fully sedated option wasn’t covered on their insurance.

    “Are you sure you don’t want to be under?”

    “If it isn’t covered, no. Figure it out.”

    “But the operation is 6 hours–”

    “So like a regular day after work? I’ll just scroll.”

      Sometimes full sedation is too risky, or at least not worth it for factors other than cost

          Hi, American here who can’t be fully sedated because it’d kill me. It took my doctor a hot minute to find a surgeon who could do what I needed under local anesthesia, because almost everyone did full sedation for that procedure.
