    Sometimes I’m not sure if we’re doing therapy sessions or dual worry sessions but you know what it’s probably fine

      If I was talking to a therapist about modern events and the literal fascism that has taken control of our country, and they aren’t worried in the slightest, or worse, try telling me I shouldn’t worry about it… Then it’s time for a new therapist.

      There’s no medicine or therapy that can make me feel ok with what’s happening right now.

      Yeah that’s not good. The good therapists I’ve had definitely had some crazy that was visible below the surface and I could tell when I hit on something that they worry about, but they kept it under control and never made my session about themselves.

      It’s therapists in social situations where you see the real crazy in them

        It’s not that they really make it about themselves, they just validate my feelings by confirming they too have feelings about all of everything that is awful. It helps me feel better and less alone so it works for me. Different strokes and all.
