My cat literally expects us to be awake at a certain time and will keep meowing us until we awake. I noticed if I don’t wake up my cat will make sure I do.

The kitten has very specific needs and places for affection times. She is not a lap cat. Heaven forbid. But she’ll walk into the living room right in front of me and then flop onto her side. This is where I am to get onto my hands and knees above her, roll her onto her back, and rub her head and kiss her belly. She purrs like a train. I love her very silly ass.

My horse insists that I play music while we hang out. She knows it comes from my phone and if I take my phone out, she’ll fiddle with it with her lips until I turn in music.

She loves when I sing and I’m so glad I’m usually there alone because I’d be embarrassed if anyone heard me serenading the horses lmao.

I recently got a lyre and I’m gonna learn how to play it for all the horses

Our cat kneads my husband’s arm when it’s bedtime. Right arm, never the left one. It must remain outside the covers and easily accessible, but not moving, until said cat has decided he’s done kneading it. This usually takes about ten minutes. No one is allowed to pet the cat while this is happening, or interrupt the kneading in any way.

If our cat is offered food with one tin or pouch in my right hand and another in my left, she will always nudge the one in my right hand.

Mine demands breakfast between 3 and 6am. Then about an hour later she requires that I get up and sit with her, on the floor, next to her cat door. There is a couch near by. But No. We sit on the floor and look out the 5x5 inch cat door window and I pet her until she gets “scratchy bitey” and I go clean my wounds and go back to bed. I’m not that into this routine, but I love her so…

This… Would not fly in my house lol.

Granted my cat is plenty annoying an hour before it’s time to get up, but I certainly don’t encourage this behavior.

The most I do to appease him is call him to the bed, where even though he can, he won’t jump up, I’ve gotta reach over and put him on the bed.

      Ok maybe I’m trained too…

“I have to go home, it’s my cat’s bedtime” is an excuse I gotta keep in my back pocket. Also, it’s probably true, I have one of those cats

I had a cat who would yell at me if I was up too late with the lights on.

    (turns off lights)

He curls up and goes to sleep.

    (turn ONE light on)

    “YOW!”

My dog has worked one over on my parents. She won’t eat until she gets a treat from my Dad (the appertif, I like to call it), and then she’ll eat her food and go over to my Mom and she won’t leave her alone until she gives her more treats for dessert.

If this routine is disrupted, she makes a big fuss.

You may want to re-term the treat as an hors d’œuvre or amuse-bouche… Unless your dad is really passing alcohol to your little buddy. Either way, she’s being properly spoiled and the courses should expand as her palette develops.

Fair enough, lol. I would call it an amuse-bouche but I hate the way it sounds when I say it 😖

Our cat does this too, closer to 9:00 pm, and when we’re finally in the bed, she (cat) climbs on top of me and settles in.

My cat sleeps whenever he’s tired or when I go to sleep. He’s a proximity cat, so he’ll be snoozing nearby depending on where in the house I am. If I go to bed, he’s going to go to bed too.

He also doesn’t wake me up. The auto feeder gets him food, so I can stay asleep without having to worry about him getting fed. Usually when I wake up he’ll be in the mini cat tree or under the bed.

      We’ve got 6 furry companions!

They are all proximity cats and we love it. They each have their thing when we go to bed. Usually 2-3 sleep with us, it’s a treat when we get 4 or 5. And they each have their own specific “spots” they gravitate towards.

Thankfully I’m a any of a cat behavior nerd and have gotten them to all leave us alone in the morning regarding food, there is one that will annoy me in the morning, but it’s because she’s wants cuddles, aggressively (She’ll straight up chomp me, actually bite me, if I ignore her sometimes)

my dog won’t herd us to bed, she just disappears and curls up in the dark alone on the bed

it’s funny when we’re staying at somebody else’s place and instead of doing the usual dog thing and wanting to be around everyone (which she did lots of earlier), she just quietly disappears to pass out

Like how my boy dog refuses to eat out of a bowl, and he insists on pushing his food around, so we downgraded to a trough. (Pretty sure it’s because his whiskers are over-sensitive.)

My dog tries. I just yell at him and then he lays down next to me instead. This has been a thing for like 3 years now.
