The woman shot and killed by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer in Minneapolis on Wednesday was Renee Nicole Macklin Good, a 37-year-old mother of three who had recently moved to Minnesota.
She was a U.S. citizen born in Colorado and appears to never have been charged with anything involving law enforcement beyond a traffic ticket.
In social media accounts, Macklin Good described herself as a “poet and writer and wife and mom.” She said she was currently “experiencing Minneapolis,” displaying a pride flag emoji on her Instagram account. A profile picture posted to Pinterest shows her smiling and holding a young child against her cheek, along with posts about tattoos, hairstyles and home decorating.

Shooting the driver of a vehicle doesn’t stop the vehicle. There is literally never a reason to kill a driver, especially in a populated area where the vehicle becomes a deadly projectile.

That same person I asked said they thought she deserved it. They said they saw a video (not the videos), and they thought she tried to kill the ice agent. That’s how they all feel. All of them. That’s yet another bit I hadn’t even thought about. The end result of his action was that the car continued, with no conscious driver and its accelerator held, directly into a parked car. Imagine if there had been other people standing there.

I’m a little pissed off that so many people only became outraged after it was a middle class white woman that was affected.
You should direct your anger at media organizations that didn’t cover those other cases adequately or at all. You’re pissed at an imaginary group of people right now: those who would care about such a murder, but only conditional to white people.

This was the pinnacle of wrongness. There was no probable cause. Zero. No threat - other than the one the officer deliberately created by placing himself in front of the car. No history, no weapon, no altercation, no dispatch to a suspected threat, nothing. The protesters in Portland did far more inflammatory things and nobody got a (non-rubber) lethal bullet to the head.
The ICE shooter went from zero to murder in seconds.
