Friendly reminder that PLEX is a great, free service, you just have to put in the effort to build up a media collection. High capacity HDDs are very cheap now, so storing a large media collection isn’t particularly expensive.

They also offer a lifetime “Plex pass” which adds some neat, but non-essential features, like auto-skipping intros and credits sequences for instance. It’s not necessary, but it’s a nice way to show support for what they do.

edit: quick addendum, I really cannot stress this enough, everyone who says nuclear is an imperfect solution and just kicks the can down the road – yes, it does, it kicks it a couple thousand years away as opposed to within the next hundred years. We can use all that time to perfect solar and wind, but unless we get really lucky and get everyone on board with solar and wind right now, the next best thing we can hope for is more time.

Not with me, they didn’t. Being able to help out a few friends was the last thing keeping me on Netflix, so with the account sharing restrictions I cancelled, bought a lifetime Plex pass (which was more just to show my support for them not being a shitty company), and now I just use my PC as a media server and pirate all my shit. And I can still share it all with friends!

Well now you’ve just set the reddit psud on his own, deep, personal quest of petty revenge.
