I use to want one. I was following news for them as electric cars were a bit of a hyper focus for me at the time.

My next car will very likely be full electric and there is no way I will own a Tesla now. I’m not even sure I would get one at this point if musk was no longer associated with it.

He has done everything he can to alienate the actual consumers of Tesla.

They can try, but its hard to band stuff that’s decentralized like that. All they realistically could do is prevent companies and organizations based in the us from federating, or federating with anything outside.

I take Adderall (generic) for ADHD and it just makes my brain not feel “numb” and also helps me not feel quite as exhausted as I had been for decades before I got medication.

It helps regulate my mood, executive function, etc.

Right now it’s not working quite as well as normal since the last week or so has had a lot of stresses on top of the political anxiety of being a queer woman, but having been in this state before medication I would be useless if I didn’t have it.

Same thing happened after the election for a week or so and I had to ration during that time and I got a stark reminder how poorly depression and ADHD go together.

I’ve literally seeing the rights of myself and other get taken away in the last week. I’m moving cross country to get out of the state I’m currently in because it does not recognize who I am.

They want to open up people like me to descrimination and hate crimes. I’m wondering what will happen with my job if this stuff keeps happening.

There are real world consequences to politics and people sticking their heads in the sand is the reason literal fascism is on the rise.

If you are privileged enough to feel you don’t have to worry about politics that generally means you aren’t the current target.

Most people don’t understand history. Anything trained on that is goanna struggle too.

YouTube is a bit of an issue as unlike the others there’s a lot of content and information you can’t get elsewhere.

I’ve been considering using a proxy to scrape and download subscriptions and add them to a personal server. Probably not practical to do for everything though with how much space that would be.

At the very least see if there’s a wrapper that can strip out a lot of content and just show the stuff I want to watch VS all the nonsense they fire at you.

Trump started the whole thing because he was unpopular on Tiktok. Republicans jumped on board because young people were politically organizing on the platform and they don’t like that.

But up to that point, there was no really effort, even as much as they tried to claim “national security”.

Then when the real information about Palestine was being spread there the democrats jumped on board because they are the same as republicans when if comes to foreign policy.

That’s what started the actual push that gained momentum. They had no actual evidence about the stuff they claimed. Also, if the claim applied to Tiktok, it applies to all the other social media. But they don’t actually care about privacy. They only care about a platform that they couldn’t control and wasn’t catering to them.

If they cared about privacy, they would have pushed general privacy legislation and/or regulation and oversight on all social media.

The reversal was Biden realizing he does not have a good legacy and with Trump, there was a lot more content this time around that was pro-trump (and also tiktok gave him a million dollars). So now he gets to claim he “saved tiktolk” when he was the start of the whole thing.

I wanted a Tesla for years. I even had stock which helped me buy my house.

I no longer want a Tesla and it 100% has to do with musk. And I decided that before I realized I’m trans.

This hurts users actually trying to find help more than it hurts reddit.

You want reddit to die just stop engaging with it. Archiving old info isn’t a profitable platform because new stuff drives engagement.

Being active elsewhere is what will kill reddit.

There’s a ton of baked in misogyny in the military.

If you think about it mandating masks for food prep makes way more sense.

Kids are not your property.

If your kid is trans or gay and they don’t feel safe coming out to you then that’s your fault. There are no decisions being made. Kids are going to be queer weather you like it or not.

If you think you can “do something” about your kids being queer then that’s probably why they don’t want to tell you.

Because bigots have literally tortured their kids over being queer forever. Kids who don’t feel safe coming out at home usually have a good reason from fear of abuse to becoming homeless.

For me it was that I didn’t have the information I needed to process what I was feeling and deal with what was wrong. I didn’t have the language to even describe that something was wrong.

I know many others in my situation that ended up with worse coping mechanisms in the same circumstance. Heavy drinking and drug use is common in the community.

That said, addictions can be physical. There’s a reason you have to ween people off of certain substances because withdrawal can kill them.

There can be mental addictions, but older generations don’t tend to care unless it’s something they don’t like.

I don’t feel like I was addicted to games growing up, but I know I was using them for escapism. Nobody from the outside would have looked any farther than “you spend X amount a day playing games”, and ignore why I felt the need for it.

Too many self important people act like addiction is a personal failing when it’s usually somone trying to find some relief in a society that has failed them.

As somone who has used video games as escapism there could also be something underlying that nobody is considering.

Who is he gonna sell it to? Nobody would want it thanks to whay he did to it.
