Yeah never being in a game where you feel like you’re actually good is one of my issues with halo infinite, and it’s why I stopped playing it.

No more multiplayer for me, just single player games from now on.

I despise subscriptions for most things. Movies, tv, audio. The technology to play them doesn’t really change: you could listen to modern audio with 1970s technology, your cel phone, and a 25 cent cable. Similar with movies. So I pirate all that stuff.

But video games? The hardware really is prohibitive for big titles. I want to play starfield because I loved oblivion and morrowind, but the hardware is so expensive. My pc could play it but nvidia linux drivers are a mess.

Anyways, my point is that streaming actually makes sense for games. Plus I could play for a month, finish the game, and subscribe and play the next big title when it comes out.

If I can stream games onto my computer or old Xbone (no reason why not) with low latency for like $15/mo, hell yeah I’ll do it.

Because 90%+ of my contacts use sms (USA) and keeping touch across multiple apps is a huge pain. Like remembering which contact uses which service is stupid.

I’d add a personal assistant that lives up to the promise. It can make reservations for you, find out when your friends are available, navigate phone trees, etc.

Yes I dropped signal when it stopped supporting sms. That was a really dumb choice and I honestly don’t know why they did it

But the little assistants could be so much better.

Like I want to ask Siri to do complicated tasks. Make me a reservation. Find a picture of a cow and send it to Jeff. Change my background to StarCraft. Stuff like that.

Because we had massive jumps from like 1999-2008. Bring those back.

I wish we could have a union at my job. I do data science stuff and I’m borderline incompetent at it, I think a union would really help me out and protect me. I want what the police have where they can be terrible but still have nice jobs. And I don’t want to get laid off. And it would be nice if there was some guarantee that I could work from home forever. And I want a raise. And if I have to go into the office for big meetings, I want the rest of the day off. And I already don’t work Thursday or Friday but I want that to be official. And it would be nice if nobody could send me slack messages until noon because sometimes they wake me up.

There could be if you were ok with videos being 400p and 20fps. Maybe use some upscaler that runs on the client. Maybe you have to pay to upload.

Storage and bandwidth are really what makes it impossible to do.

That’s how airbnbs were when I’ve used them in the past, things like a place where you can sleep on someone’s couch, or a house with a spare room you can crash in. Those kinds of arrangements were way cheaper than hotels and very appealing.

Yes, the whole place is on sale right now. I’m going in a few weeks. Hotels are insanely cheap compared to the states. I’m staying in renovated monnestaries and castles for less than a low end chain hotel costs at home.

Airfare is fucking brutal though, so it’s almost a wash.
