You’re part of the problem here. Owning more than you rightly need and then using it for airbnb of all things.
It’s not just flippers or larger companies. It’s people like you en masse trying to get ahead of the next less fortunate sucker just as much.
My best guess is that the almost two years of can kicking this conclusion was enough for most larger investors to reposition so the bag holders are now, once again, regular people.
Only difference being that it is a large amount of Chinese citizens getting fudged, rather than US or EU citizens.
I looked at it and have no idea where or how to start as a creator. It’s a badly federated mess as far as I can tell. Hope it improved eventually.
A bit older than the Orville, Red Dwarf was the original satire of Star Trek turned into a legitimate Sci-Fi show a la Star Trek.
I enjoyed it a lot, at least the original seasons. Never watched the later ones they added thirty or so years later.
I feel all those posts about reddit looking for mods for various communities is a good indicator. They might not have lost quantity all that much, but a very small portion of quality kept a lot of reddit interesting and running smoothly. A lot of that has either just dropped entirely engaging or migrated.
I doubt everyone would move. Some people simply take it as a sign to move on and do other things with their limited time on this little planet.
Atypical really gave an amazing insight into how neurodiverse people experience life and what their challenges are. One of the very best shows I have ever seen. Refreshing to have the main character be neurodiverse but no the butt of the joke like other shows used to deal with the topic most of the time.
It also showcases the many issues around someone with such a different life.
Helped me to be kinder to myself just as much as simply being more considerate of people around me. I don’t know them. I don’t know what is going on in their mind and why they act like they do. While I always attempted to be respectful of everyones reality, getting such an intimate and respectful glimpse was pretty important.
All the nay sayers that it won’t change anything, are right to a point. Yes the message is “it’s only two days, after that it’s fine again!”, if you’re full on corpo. But what the userbase is demonstrating to not just reddit, but future investors on their IPO - is that they are 100% capable of removing everything that makes reddit what it is within days and for an indefinite amount of time. There’s always churn. The amount of potential new users being lost due to massive degradation in public feeds will be noticeable. The amount of lost impressions on ads for mega subs will be noticeable.
To my mind, it doesn’t even matter if this particular two day period hurts them financially. The message is clear. Reddit isn’t some assortment of Twitter schmucks that have no ability to actually have any impact. If there’s nothing to monetize, nothing to push ads through, nothing to attract new users, the platform is worthless and the users hold almost all the power.
If reddit takes away the ability to turn subreddits off, they’ll be deleted next time. This generation is fed up with being helpless pawns in shitty CEO games. I deleted several accounts and don’t have any left. I am done with reddit as an actual user and contributor.
Every time they go toe to toe with their user base they will bleed the users that keep that place running and relevant.
I’m loving that this is actually so wide spread.
You joke, but when this all started to unravel two years ago, it actually did bounce. Not much, but it did. Was clear as day it’s going bankrupt, but then CCP stepped in and it all simply stopped.
