Not too long ago I learned that you’re not supposed to rinse your mouth out after brushing your teeth, but instead just spit out the toothpaste. Apparently you’re supposed to leave a coating of it on your teeth for it to work properly.
As a kid I learned from the dentist that you should massage your gums with the toothbrush. I’ve recently learned that you should absolutely not and this is why I have retracted gums and exposed roots that hurt like a motherfucker.
Childhood dentist that is probably long dead, I wish you bad thoughts wherever you are.
I’ve heard this before too, but no way, need a good rinse, and don’t get toothpaste residue on the towel or anywhere, rinse well, mouth, hands and brush. The dentist has given my teeth great reviews for decades now from brush 2x a day, floss as needed and rinse the tp well. I get fluoride in the water too so it hasn’t been an issue for my teeth at least.
It takes long enough after brushing and rinsing well to not have the odd tastes from eating as it is, but maybe not an issue for others and that would be nice.
Same, dentists said my teeth were excellent when I didn’t follow various tips like: don’t rinse, don’t use more than a pea of toothpaste, brush in circles. I do the 2nd and 3rd one now but I’m never going to stop doing water rinse. I’ve tried, but it doesn’t really help. the water rinse allows me to feel clean
