Portal 1 where you find Ratman’s hideouts. It was amazing environmental storytelling that a newbie player like myself back then could’ve easily missed. Felt like playing the friggin cave allegory. I was obsessed with that game. So amazing.

Arthur’s death scene in red dead redemption hit me so hard, even though I knew it was coming. The music, the build up. I was already a mess losing my horse. It was brutal and amazing, and now I play this game at least once every year.
I don’t have a screenshot handy, but I still vividly remember Fallout 3 stepping out of Vault 101 for the first time and feeling the awe of talking my first steps into a fresh new world and also immediately afterwards seeing how destroyed it really is.

Amnesia was great, lots of fun with headphones and no lights on.
A little one I’ll neve forget is playing Jedi Outcast and you’re doing battle with the 2nd in charge, Tavion. Keep in mind I was high af playing this, but after you defeat her you’re holding her up and force choking her off the side of Cloud City. And she starts singing like a canary. The part that hit hard (again stoned out of my mind) was the person who was hell bent on killing you and leading to darkness which could cause the deaths of thousands and subjugation of millions says…because I’m not brave enough to die!

As a vanilla WoW player, I will never forget getting coming to the front gates of Stormwind for the first time and being in awe of it.
The beginning of Saints Row 4 when you drive with Pierce to your first mission and they sing Opposites Attract together.
I love when Boss was with…I don’t even remember who…but they were singing Biz Markie Just a Friend.
This hits even harder at the end of 4 when the entire cast is singing it (poorly) and towards the end all the other voices fade out and it’s just Michael Clarke Duncan singing it out. For those who don’t know, MCD was did the voice of Benjamin King, one of the main villains in the original Saints Row. He did some VA for SR4 but passed away early on and Terry Crews took over the role. Before he died, one of the things MCD was able to record was him singing Just a Friend.

Here I am, ten years old. Just got home school. Figured I’d get some prince of Persia in before my parents get home. I just got a soundblaster 2.0 and I’ve got BIG speakers, enjoying the amazing sounds at high volume. I’m puzzling, exploring, getting used to there being piles of bones here and there. I’m backtracking through level 3 and this skeleton fucking rises and draws its sword with an eery sound. I’m shitting my pants here and reactively press the reset button on the computer to get out of this.
Loved this game. It inspired the Tomb Raider series quite a bit. Including the Mirror Prince /Atlantean Lara part.
First time realizing you have to wait for the rat to come help you was mind blowing.
She IS still alive.
