The Federal Communications Commission has greenlit Paramount’s petition to allow foreign investors to own at least 49.5 percent of its equity—should the media behemoth successfully acquire Warner Bros. Discovery.

Middle Eastern royalty, Putin, and Xi Jinping can now influence US elections just like the US can influence Canadian elections through Postmedia Network. The prize of national lawmaking now goes to the highest international bidder. Very consistent with Jabba the Hutt willing to have the oil industry keeping him “elected”.

The bribes didn’t go through yet.

Side thought, I don’t think the current political structure of the US would suit china, if they ended up holding soft power over it. I think they’d purge people pretty quickly.

Come on Canada, you know what to do.

Actually I’m not sure it’s worth it. It’s still giving money to Americans. But it would be funny to be able to inundate them with propaganda of our choice.

Why would we get upset over foreign investment but not domestic investment?

It’s not like either of them have our best interests at hand.

If you were writing the story of the end of the American Empire you would be right around the part where leadership was selling out to the highest bidder to try to save themselves.

Save themselves from what? As the country continues to deteriorate, the parasites profiting from its downfall will just go somewhere else. They can afford it.

It’s the dumbasses that keep supporting these con artists that are going to suffer.

That’s my point, the parasites (that don’t have the means quite yet) are gathering up everything they can sell and trying to collect what they can so they can try to survive what is coming.
