If you want some good news: the earth is greener than it was 20 years ago. About 5% greener, mostly due to big tree planting projects in India and China, but also due to desertification efforts on the edges of the Saha, Forrest restoration in the Americas rewinding efforts in Europe (which are also introducing native wildlife back to Europe like wolves, bison and beavers) and even the redesigning of urban centres to include more green space.
