I read a lot of SciFi when I was a teen. I learned not to bother seeing the movie if one was made. They always got so much wrong, and by “wrong” I mean it didn’t match my imagination.
This is why I’m currently hesitating to watch Hail Mary Project.
I’m a big fan of the book. Couldn’t stand the movie.
I was really surprised because, while I have a track record of hating adaptations of books I’ve read, a lot of my friends that had read the book absolutely loved the movie. So I thought maybe it would be okay, even if I didn’t love it. But I couldn’t finish the movie at all, I didn’t even make it halfway.
Out of curiosity, have you watched and read 2001: A Space Odyssey? How did that comparison go, if you have?
