DDG seems to be marketing themselves as “google without the ai bullshit” these days.
it is present on their main search but can be ignored or put out-of-sight easily enough.
you have to use noai.duckduckgo.com to have it just ‘off’ period.
I wish I could recommend DDG but their (Microsoft’s? Are they still a frontend around Bing?) search results are just terrible.

Just ignore that they were a backdoor for hackers for a few years.
And they were open and honest about what happened and how they resolved it. Unlike many, many, many other companies who hide compromise until it hits critical mass in the news.
