A while ago I saw the old video before it got filled…

Literally while they were still painting/sealing it, trump full on drove his full motorcade into the reflecting pool so he could see the color and speak at reporters.

I immediately figured that’s why it got fucked up.

“The Beast” that the president rides in is a fucking tank and insanely heavily, driving normal SUVs would have been dumb, but there’s no way that thing didn’t fuck it up.

I assumed this was some kind of typo or something. They drove into the pool?

        To be fair:

It was while there was no water in it.

And trump obviously wasn’t in control of the vehicle directly, but I’d put money on them at first trying to park next to it, and trump being so lazy he ordered them to drive into the reflecting pool

I’d bet he did it as a stunt to show how durable the liner is.

“Look, the liner is so strong, the strongest, so strong that I can drive a car, not a car really, a limo, but a big limo, a big beautiful limo, more tank than limo if you ask me, but I can drive, I drive the best, ask anyone, but I didn’t drive, I have people to drive for me, they drove my limo, tank really, onto the reflecting pool, it’s gonna be beautiful, believe me, it’s beautiful already, and I know a thing or two about beauty, well they drove my car, all my limos, onto the reflecting pool, that’s a funny word, limo, is short for limousine, did you know that, I bet you didn’t know that. Limousine, like magazine, a big beautiful magazine, this reflecting pool will be in magazines, they’ll see it and go “oh, it’s beautiful Mr. President, we want our whole magazine to be picture of your pool” they wouldn’t do that though, the mainstream media, they wouldn’t report on how strong and beautiful this pool is, they just want to attack. They want to attack me for trying to fix it. 168 million dollars. Obama had 168 million dollars and we did it for 8, or maybe 14. It’s going to be perfect, believe me. It’s perfect.”

I want to say it would have been better if he’d driven through it while there was water in it, but it’s nowhere near deep enough for that to be true.

I’ve heard it contested whether ‘The Beast’ was used, so I went and Found a video myself.

I personally don’t see ‘The Beast’ out there.

That said, I do think any of those massive Cadillacs could have caused the damage.

That may not be “The Beast” but it’s just as heavily armored and started from a larger frame, so I think it’s a safe bet to equate the two even if that’s not officially “The Beast”.

Like, I don’t think it’s been one vehicle thru all these administrations.

I always took “The Beast” to refer to a heavily armored vehicle the president routinely travels in. Like how “Marine 1” is just whatever helicopter the president is using, or how trump got off Air Force 1 and got one a different air force 1 a few weeks ago.

While a lot less official “The Beast” isn’t a single vehicle either.

Ever if “The Beast” itself isn’t used, I’m pretty sure a lot ,f the rest of the motorcade vehicles are all armored with various additional bells and whistles so they probably outweigh standard SUVs by a good bit. I’m pretty sure one of the motorcade vehicles usually has a mini gun turret that pops out of the roof.

Also, I haven’t seen anything specific about it, but I do believe the beast is at or near the end of its intended service life and i saw a few months back some article that pointed out that he was seen in an Escalade-looking vehicle instead of the beast at some event, so there might possibly be a new beast making it’s way into service, but they weirdly haven’t made any major announcements about it yet (I wouldn’t be too surprised by any other president being a bit tight-lipped about it, but trump absolutely would not be the type to shut up about “his” new custom Cadillac.)
