But a “more local” map of even just a hemisphere can still be what we’re familiar with. The issue is how to get 100% of the surface of a sphere onto one flat page.
That problem disappears when zooming in. So using this projection for anything besides the whole planet doesn’t make much sense.

Theres fewer and fewer, but some avenues of academics a person wouldnt be swayed left/right solely by their knowledge and subject matter expertise that makes them an academic.
Off the top of my head, only economists have a right wing slant. But that’s because the wealthy bought off the neoliberals to deregulate everything, and everyone agreed that the only people who knew about the economy, were the ones who said Regeanomics was a step in the right direction.
Everyone else was just called wrong and haven’t had a real chance to try on smaller scales that it works.

There’s a single person who’s been doing it at least since the reddit migration 3 years ago, but I feel like it was already a thing before that.
I have no idea what the original ban was for, but all those accounts eventually get banned for being an alt of that account.
Afterwards they just make a dozen new accounts and keep doing it.
It’s super weird, and I almost asked this morning actually when I saw a batch had been banned and new ones were already up.
But I know the person wouldn’t answer.
