Cause 30 is old? Oof…
I think it’s less that 30 is old and more that that is about the age your start to realize the age difference.
You can live most of your twenties and still feel somewhat connected to people plus or minus 5 years. However when you hit 30 you start to have more in common with people who are 40 than people who are 20.
That said I didn’t really have this experience until I was in my late 30s and the little track suit crews with their broccoli cuts showed up. I’m just a late bloomer I guess.
The warranty expires as soon as you hit 25.
Around 25 you have to interact with all ages, and everyone starts to blend.
As you get older and interact with younger people, the more you see them make the same mistakes you did. Because they’re encountering the same problems with no experience or knowledge on how to handle them. Be a mentor to the younger folks.
You know that thought experiment where you have a time machine and can go back in time and tell younger you how to avoid all those mistakes you made…ya know, don’t date that person, don’t go to that party, don’t drop out of that class, don’t be afraid of that bully?
Yeah, younger you would 100% ignore older you’s advice because you’re old.
30 plus is when you start noticing the mental gap with the younger kids in certain areas
I have combat boots - one owner - older than that.
I’m in my late 30’s but visibly pass for late 20’s.
Skincare, not-smoking, standing desk & walking everywhere, and avoiding UV by being a fucking perpetual indoor nerd. (My diet isn’t too horrible either but its not great)
I don’t relate to anyone, 20 year olds, 30 year olds, 40+ year olds. They might as well all be aliens. So it doesn’t matter that much.
I like to recommend music, but I’m a musician so it’s kind of like a bear recommending honey. Oh speaking of you should try honey
When you’re sixty and hang around with any of the more recent generations…
What’s your mindset, now, and how has it most recently changed? Like how do you see the world, and how does that differ from your most previous iteration of self?
I just learned that gohan means rice.
Oolong (the pig), Yamcha (another pig) and Puerh are all types of tea !.
Gohan, Vegeta(ble), Raditz (radish), Nappa (cabbage), Bro(co)ly and all of the saiyans are named after food. Goku’s real name is Kakarot. His father is Bardock, etc.
Cooler and Frieza are obvious, they get to be where food gets to die after being forgotten.
Ten Shin Han is a dish with crab (or shrimp, I don’t remember)
Piccolo is named after an instrument, so were the other demons (Drum, etc.)
Bulma comes from Bloomers, a type of female underwear. Trunks are the male equivalent.
Bididi Babidi Boo ! Is the formula used by the good godmother (or whatever her name may be) in Cinderella.
I think I must have forgotten some characters, but you get the gist of it.
Here’s some characters you missed, but don’t worry, these ones are pretty subtle and only the most hardcore fans and linguists noticed:
There’s a bunch of characters named Android <number>. You might think that they are all members of the Android family and just really like numbers so use those as names, but that’s not the case. They are all actually androids and their numbers indicate the order they were made.
And the character Cell isn’t named after a prison theme like most viewers suspect, but he is named such because he was built using cells from many other characters.
Also, Roshi means old teacher, but I’m sure everyone already knew that.
So what happened to Krillin? Or rather… Kuririn?
Migrated south at winter
A wide cross-section of Dragonball and DBZ characters are named after food, often via some manner of pun. Goku is probably just slightly more literally minded about this than others.
Notable exceptions are Piccolo, Mr. Popo, and… infamously… Bulma.
Who?

I m not growing older; the world becomes younger
inter-generational friends have that dgaf energy you just don’t get from thems basic homogeneous groups.

Lol like I can still squat like that.
You made a Slavic person cry.
My dude, I’m in my 40s. Someone in my band is in her late 20s. Someone else is in her late 60s. There’s like 11 of us and we’re like family. Adults under 25 need to be handled with kid gloves, but like friendships that cross traditional social boundaries are the best. If your friends see the world the exact same way you do, you don’t have anything interesting to talk about because you already know each others’ thoughts.
I’m almost 29 and we got a new guy at work who is 23 a few months ago and the age difference is just barely large enough for us to not understand pop culture references from childhood.
