Well, now we all know what an unlawful order looks like.
I’m so glad I’m already out. It would really ruin my day to have to get into a screaming match with some pimply LTJG about being voluntold to see that piece of shit.
For people unaware of how Morale, Welfare, and Recreation work on military bases, you will get ordered to go see a movie or go to a AA baseball game or a cookout or whatever, and no, you can’t not go.
I have no problem believing that Kegsbreath made this month’s Mandatory Fun activity gazing into the soulless void for 2 hours.
Ah yes mandatory fun day. Fun fact one of the reasons I didn’t even consider signing up with the military was because I heard enough stories about that bullshit that it I came to the conclusion I’d probably end up getting dishonorably discharged because of it. Also the autism but that’s besides the point.
Does he not realize what vets are turning to as they retire or no longer re-enlist?
A lot of them took their Oath seriously.
I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if the regime tries to make enlistment contracts longer and harder to get out of.
Absolutely. We already had manning problems across all the branches before everything went to hell. If they want to meet Trump’s goals of new battleships / force reinvigoration, something with regard to enlistment / recruiting policy will have to change, and it won’t be anything good.
I was going to join up in 2024 but I wanted to wait until after the election. After Trump won… I decided to just stay at my shitty office job.
I don’t blame you. If I were doing it all over again today, I would never join under this administration. Someone motivated to serve these days can help their country far better and more effectively by helping individuals at risk in their communities / working at a local and regional level against fascism.
True, I just wanted the benefits you get but now those are slowly being dismantled so it’s not even worth it for that LMAO.
The cheap prescriptions are nice, I’ll admit lol
My mom and older family all want me to join the Air Force at the very least.
My mom actually took me to breakfast to talk to someone about joining, but I only went so she’d get off my back about it.
Literally any time I said I didn’t want to, she’d ask why. Like why do I need a reason to not want to join the military? I don’t care if I’ll mostly be removed from the worst shit, that can change literally at a moment’s notice at literally anytime. I don’t even do well with authority; like I’m not disrespectful, but it’s a huge detriment to my mental health.
I also didn’t want to be a tool of a fascist regime. And I knew that’s where things were headed.
In 2018 I re-enlisted and remember internally laughing at the line ‘…obey the others of the president…’ as I said it. I was at 18 years of service and just wanted to finish my time.
Oh yeah? Well that lady at the bus stop says I’m handsome.
When reached for comment, a Department of Defense official told Business Insider, “There is no Department of War directive requiring service members to see this film, though the film is fantastic.”

I saw your quote and thought it can’t be real. It’s parody, right?
Nope, it’s in the article. It’s real. Fucking hell.
Following orders for to a T. Rightly or wrongly that is a large part of being a good soldier.
I think there is an angle even grosser than being forced to go. Commanders can’t make you spend your money on optional things. The trip was funded with tax money.
Modern news headlines are so damn weird.
So the Nazis pushed Nazi propaganda. Crazy!
Lamo
is this an order, sir?
- Starts checking the Geneva convention against cruel and unusual punishments.
Sir, yes, sir.
proceeds to view the Melania movie Wikipedia page to technically comply with orders
Cruel and unusual punishment much?
… so lame
