CNN POLL: Which party would you rather see in control of Congress after next year’s congressional elections? (RV, with leaners)

    🟦 Democrats: 52%
    🟥 Republicans: 48%

That’s really scary IMO, 48% STILL lean Republican!!

The economy sucks almost as bad as during COVID now, unemployment is increasing, wage values are decreasing, Trump is running a fascist regime, and working on undermining democracy, USA is losing allies left and right, and ICE is picking Americans up in the street. And Republicans are actively waging war on every single minority there is.

How can Republicans still have 48% support?

Decades of unfilteted right wing propoganda.

Seriously Fox, and Right wing radio have portrayed democrats as the epitome of evil, or working eith the literal christian devil. If you take your faith even the slightest bit seriously you will not or cannot possibly vote for a democrat no matter how bad it may get.

Look at them trying to deify Charlie Kirk, the man said some absolutely vile things and he was fucking mild compared to people like Fuentes, Milo, Miller and even Alex Jones. They never see what he said about the civil rights movement, or black pilots. They only see a good christiam boy taken down for expressing an opinion. It shouldnt surprise a single soul its this close

People like a lot of those things, I would say the ICE thing probably makes Republicans more popular

You are right, the poll kind of shows that, with Republicans leading on immigration.
It’s still scary that the American people think like that.

It kind of doesn’t though. The specific thing it found (italicization added)

The poll found that large shares of Americans believe Republicans’ views on crime and policing, immigration and the economy are closer to their own than Democrats’ views, according to CNN’s report. Republicans have a 15-point advantage on crime and policing, a 7-point advantage on immigration and a 5-point advantage on the economy, according to the poll.

          and earlier in the article

The poll also found that 58% of respondents said things are going “pretty” or “very” badly in the United States today, while 42% said things are going “pretty” or “very” well. Americans still carry negative views of both political parties, with 52% having an unfavorable view of Democrats and 51% having an unfavorable view of Republicans.

A relatively large portion of Americans think something isn’t working right now and aren’t happy with what they’re getting. They would still like to solve all of their problems by just inflicting violence on the right people because we have watched too many bad action movies and cop shows and modern military shooters and have some seriously fucked up beliefs about the utility of violence, but Americans see gardeners and school teachers and doctors and parents being dragged away by masked government agents that lash out violently with zero provocation and they say “no, not like that, you’re not hurting the right people, this isn’t what I voted for, etc.”

Also, Republicans numbers are being artificially boosted by the fact that Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries can’t go more than three days at a time without saying something that makes them sound completely full of shit.

The economy has not hit the shitter just yet. Wait until end of Q4 when the economy starts to really tank and that 48% will erode a bit.

I’m curious what will happen when this year’s harvest withers on the vine (because of a lack of farm workers, thanks to new immigration policies) and food prices skyrocket.

This is why they are purging voter registration, gerrymandering the hell out of every state, making voting painful and difficult in every poor blue-leaning area, illegally stacking judicial appointments, and spending hundreds of billions of dollars ensuring all media is monopolized and propagandized.

    They…don’t…care…

They’ve spent the last year rigging the system to ensure that there will not be a fair election. How the hell are people still clueless about that?

You could walk in on election day, vote overwhelmingly for Democratic tickets, and still wake up the next morning with the Republicans up and down the board miraculously winning. Even if it’s obvious, and so-called “investigations” are launched, the system is filled with Trump loyalists.

The time to fix this electorally was a long long time ago.

This. They stole '24 and they aren’t going to give it back willingly. Just look at the way republican congresspeople are acting. They know there will be no electoral consequences or they would have acted on the feedback they got at town halls earlier in the year.

Counterpoint: they learned fuck all 2016-20, they will learn fuck all 2024-28. The problem is real people will not feel the effects until years later, then they will blame anyone other than an old white guy.

Look at all the shit Obama endured having to fix Bush’s mess.

If Merrick Garland had been confirmed and Obama had convinced RBG to step down after the colon cancer diagnosis then maybe we would be in a better place right now.

        But that’s not what happened.

Fix Bush’s mess? He doubled down on all of the worst excesses of Bush’s mess. Ramped up drone strikes, invaded more countries, renewed the patriot act, violated the war powers act by staying in Syria too long, tried to arrest Snowden. 2 more terms of bush would have looked identical.

They don’t have legit elections anymore, and even if they did it doesn’t matter.

The poll clearly shows Americans have a more favorable view of the Republicans than the democrats. What a pathetic country.

Trumps 2nd term has had higher approval ratings. Let that sink in.

I guess there weren’t many farmers, or construction company workers, or small business owners in this poll

It’s party’s job to create so? worth investing in. Otherwise you are not investing, only stopping losses.
