They exist to make money, not do journalism.
And just like that, I never considered watching ABC ever again.

This guy chose to make a stand. Props to him. Hopefully he finds more meaningful employment at an organization that values morality.
Corporate media serves the regime. Support independent media while you still can.
That seems excessive, they could have just fired him…
At least he is become human. I wonder if there are any other humans on network television.
I mean, he’s not wrong, but when you represent the brand there are all sorts of restrictions and caveats. :(
We need to push back on the idea that you represent a brand or that brand has any authority over you when off the clock.
Good luck; this is textbook fascism and one of its features is that it’s totalitarian and will sink its claws into every single aspect of your lives unless you fight back at every level.
That’s the trouble with social media. If I tweeted something with my work account there’s a whole bunch of policy guidelines I agreed to in order to make that tweet.
Which is why I don’t use a work social media account. :) And when they ask me “Hey, share this on social media!” I’m like “Nope! Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope!”
