having to carry a battery that I need to have plugged into my heart for it to work is literally nightmare fuel for me though, there’s so many ways I could imagine myself unplugging it accidentally, breaking the battery or breaking the cable

Just get one with a torsion spring instead and wind it up every day.
If that’s not just some AI image, it hurts me to think about them stretching arteries over those barb fittings.
