  • My nickname in junior school was “stinky” which probably tells you all you need to know. Grew up poor, primary caregiver had mental health issues and financial troubles meant electricity for hot water was not a regular thing…

I don’t remember exactly but my mom who actually worked and did her best those days to support us would have made sure I was bathed on the weekends at least. So one week tops.

I’m still paying for the lack of regular teeth cleaning in my youth. Nowadays I’m pretty fastidious about hygiene, and showering regularly!

  • Picking stuff up with my toes. I use the two big ones like chopsticks or just scrunch something up with all of them together. My toes can spread out as wide as my fingers, so it’s easy to manipulate things with them. Also, I am very well balanced on one leg, probably because of doing this for so long.

This power is more and more useful as I get older and find it more of a chore to bend over, with my beer belly getting in the way (I’m almost 50, it’s a sign of success!). If it’s below my waist I’m going to pick it up with my foot 50% basically.

I live in a warm climate and hardly ever wear closed shoes luckily, I know some places it wouldn’t be practical…

  • So my parents were Catholic and Atheist respectively. I have great respect for religious beliefs but am an atheist myself.

My town is very multi-cultural and due to the work I do, every year I am privileged to be invited to Hindu, Muslim, Christian and Jewish cultural events.

I can happily say that the main thing that always strikes me is the friendliness of ordinary people from all faiths and walks of life.

  • So AdGuard works on the YouTube website. I haven’t been there for some time - I use 2 other methods to watch YouTube ad-free.

    1. Newpipe - Android app that works by parsing the website, will probably be affected?
    2. YouTube Kodi add-on - works with Google YouTube API, I was wondering when this loophole is going to be plugged…

Anyone with knowledge of the matter care to comment? So far my YouTube watching is still ad-free.

I also run pi-hole in front of my WiFi. Nothing gets through. Or will it?

I noticed some podcasts these days have random server injected ads - usually the same ad repeated 2 or 3 times, is this going to be my video stream soon?
