Any time you read or skim through anything right-wing, you swore that you were smarter before you began to.
Always in the back. I get a better view that way. I’ve tried sitting in the front before, but I always had to have my head tilted up. I’ve tried sitting in the middle before and my eyes had to zoom around the screen still to try and catch everything.
So, the back it is for me.
Well, why aren’t we practicing that communal specialty into you know, bettering society from it’s current dumpster fire state? Or is that just too tall of a task?
First, go alone. But make sure you go at the tailend of the movie’s cycle before it goes out of theaters. That’s usually when crowds lessen and it’ll be easier on you to manage. Lots of people really find themselves annoyed because they attend a movie, just when it’s freshly released and they run into all of these problems.
Not really, most times. It just makes me look at things with an even viler perspective towards the things I already have a low-mood or tolerance to as is.
Several. I’ll keep it to three.
One, was having to move out from my home state, twice. I have my fair share of criticism for some parts of it that I didn’t like, like having been around some lowly leveled towns with druggies and drunks. But there have been an awful lot of ups as well, I love it’s scenery, I love how it isn’t billboard haven like the places I’ve moved to have had and I liked the small communities. As well as my state being a very progressive state too. If only it’d correct it’s affordability problem, I would have loved to return there.
Two, the changing of the internet. I’ve been online for over 27 years now. It is depressing to watch it all devolve into a corporate marketing playground with so many subscriptions nagging you. I’ve had to watch so many good places shut down because of these increasing pressures of these changes affecting them. People I’ve known online, are either gone due to the sands of time or that they’ve passed away that I didn’t realize until I get second or third hand information about it. It used to all be a rich and fulfilling experience. But every time I use the internet now, it feels shallower and shallower. If the internet were to suddenly up and vanish in maybe the next 5 minutes, I wouldn’t complain. I’d just bow out and feel that we’ve done all that we’ve done.
Lastly, having to oust a friend of 5 years tenure for showing sympathy to pedophiles. They brought a lot of positivity and wholesomeness to my life during my time with them. We were even in a group with others that shared silliness and good times. But the past year it has been nothing but just senseless debates and one of which ended up them coming out as a pedo sympathizer which was something I just couldn’t accept because of my experiences having been entangled with pedos and dealing with them and their illogical worldview on how they see minors.
Fed Up
Good way to know how truly messed the food industry is because of the lobbying from the sugar industry
If we’re perfectly honest - No.
Reddit has over 53 some odd million users. Million with an M. Lemmy has gained, at most, upwards of just thousands. To call it a ‘mass exodus’ is really overselling it.
It’s going to take a fairly long time, for Lemmy to even scratch 100k even. I’m on both Reddit and Lemmy. Lemmy, for a more positive experience. Reddit, because the numbers are just there.
Okay, so let’s go down the list. Musk has bought Twitter so he could:
The Matrix Revolutions.
Released in the same year as Reloaded, which I don’t think a movie series of that caliber has been done in a long time or since. But we got two Matrix sequels in one year. Reloaded has gotten a little more accepted as time went on but people are still divided on Revolutions. I quite frankly, thought the mainline series couldn’t have ended on more of a note than it did. A lot of the content has gone over everyone’s heads, even at the time, because it was all techy-techy stuff and had biblical themes in it as well. But if you look at the entire Matrix series as you would TRON, it makes a little more sense.
I feel the concept of FB can still work. Just don’t have someone like Mark running it.
Friendica is an option but I don’t want to keep going to social media platforms where I have to constantly server hop. Lemmy is about as far as I’ll go, but anything else, is a deal breaker.
Leaving Twitter for Hive Social was a no-brainer. Almost anything that isn’t heralded by that sycophant Musk was a win.
I don’t use TikTok, Instagram, WhatsApp .etc so that’s easy to avoid.
Reddit is more or less a struggle, obviously I’m still there to a degree because their numbers outweigh Lemmy’s and I do like the feeling of instant interactivity because of those numbers.
VT, my old homestate, was slammed with a flood. It is one of the worst floods in that state’s history since 1927. It is due to climate change.
To deny the effects of climate change, would be like being slapped in the face very hard and being unfazed by it. Then wondering why hours later, what transpired.
I haven’t because Netflix hasn’t given me a good solid reason to return to them.
I wouldn’t exactly say everyone is too tired to fight this stuff. Because, a bubble has yet to burst somewhere if it hasn’t already. Netflix just fails to see the bigger picture of this problem and once that bubble bursts, the bubble of financial strains on society, they’ll feel it tenfold.
Yeah I’m finding that piece of advice is worthless. I say, just look over your shoulder once in a while, but never not go looking at all. Some of the best people I’ve dated was because I just simply glanced over, but I can’t say any of them we’re ‘the right ones’ because they happened to be because I wasn’t looking.
Any of them that’s vague but of course it’s dependent on context.
The ‘be yourself’ one bothers me the most. There’s parts of myself that I don’t like, why would I want to get cozy with it?
Oh and especially “do what makes you happy”. I’m sorry but I deal with suicide on a semi-regular basis and what if one day I decide I want to go and I feel that is what will make me happy in that mindframe. Would that be okay? No it wouldn’t.
I don’t see why my vehicle has to tell me what song is playing through my IPod, on the screen where the wheel is, that displays more important information like tire PSI and speed. The bigger screen is more than sufficient.
People who’re gullible. I’m sure Twitch thought the same thing when their subscription service is exactly the same thing. $12 a month, just to remove ads. On top of them assuming you have Prime too, which is $15. So they want you paying $27 to get rid of ads.
Oh so we’re going to try and carry on the tradition of fishing for people’s dark secrets on here now too? Lame.
