25 y/o programmer from Germany
I love TickTick, but this post seems really off
They’re all the same person
Ah, makes sense. Guess it just depends on what you’re familiar with. I’d interpret “Alpine Meadow” as either a meadow in the Alps, or as a meadow that looks like a meadow in the Alps lol
I’m out of the loop, is the word Alpine used to refer to anything that isn’t the Alps?
I find those randomly started projects and the dim activity chart deeply relatable haha
A programmer? Mah man!!
Whenever I catch myself typing too long on a reply or getting frustrated, I ask myself: “Would it be better for me to just send a picture of a pig pooping on his own balls?”
If the answer is yes, I stop typing and either block or move on.
Pretty sure you could get a bit of mummy for that price
ew no, why would anyone want that
I personally really liked https://learnjavascript.online/ when I was just getting started with JS. I use the knowledge from that course like every day at work now. The same guy also made a general programming course for beginners, I bet it’s good as well: https://learnprogramming.online
What I especially liked about the course was that you got little assignments between each lesson, that you could just solve in their web IDE. So there’s no fiddling around to set up an external IDE. Big big plus for me, I hate setting up stuff like that
What can you do to mitigate that fear? You obviously know there’s some irrationality to it, but that doesn’t mean that it would be invalid to try and dampen some of those concerns ^^
How about getting a little fire extinguisher for your kitchen? I’m confident with cooking, but I still always have one on hand just in case!
You can also try and experiment with what exactly your boundaries are. Are you comfortable making something like a soup/stew? Does it bother you to bake something? That might be more than enough for the start, and once you get comfortable with that you might even naturally want to level up to scarier stuff.
When it comes to fears, the only way to lose is not to try. Because every instance of avoiding something you’re afraid of reinforces that fear by making you think that you successfully avoided a scary situation. Even if absolutely nothing would have happened otherwise.
Good luck!
…can I take more than one?
During many Olympics, Usain Bolt sustained himself on nothing but 100 Chicken McNuggets a day, because they have a really optimal Carb to Protein ratio and are very consistent (whereas strange new food in foreign countries might be risky).
So, you’re just eating like one of the world’s best athletes.
the way yoga instructors speak, for some reason. I don’t hate Yoga itself, just that fake calm voice makes me pretty mad. I could relax much better if the instructor just shouted like a drill sergeant all the time
I feel like a rambly long-form joke like this could really land: https://youtu.be/AXtNUgEWgQI
When you photoshop the images to the online doctor to get an Ozempic prescription
That unironically might work tho Like getting their mind off of the current thought spiral can be pretty helpful sometimes
I don’t care either way, but too many premade meals I have bought in the past were gross and inedible to a point where I had to toss them and just make food from scratch. I just keep the supplies for a quick 1 pot Carbonara in my fridge at all times - it might not be super healthy, but it’s always a predictable taste/texture and only costs about 1,50€ per Portion
They definitely are!! And just watching them waddle around and do their little hamster duties is the cutest 🥹
Pygmy Hippos aren’t as murderous as their larger cousins!
