QR code was a mistake and does not suite that use case. Changing a few spots would have corrupted the URL whereas a “Lemmy” sign would’ve been much better. Even with corrupted pixels, it would still be distinctly recognizable.
What we have right now in Lemmy strikes the current balance IMO. Individual comments are upvoted/downvoted. But no cumulative score.
Productive: Maps, check the stock market, read non fiction/Wikipedia, pay bills, translate voice or text written in a foreign language, use as a bike computer or GPS tracker, hail a ride/taxi, rent a bike, communicate with people.
Fun: Read books/comics, amateur photography/videography, puzzles, listen to music.
Purposefully left out apps that cause doomscrolling and addiction.
