I beg to differ, how the modern shareholder capitalism works is nothing but squeezing profit out of society
what “solution” is there? both the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the long-standing Israeli occupation of Palestinians lands have the exact same solution, and Russia is just as likely to give up on their Ukrainian ambitions as Israel is at getting rid of all the Palestinians (one way or another)
you say this, and NASA completely disagrees about the problem of junk in LEO, all well before Mr.MAGA-MC-Slavemines started adding to the problem
you know it’s difficult who to trust, the man who caused several deaths after he had the warning stripes removed due to his dislike of yellow, or NASA
bruh, we stopped the genocides there, learn a bit of history, Most Serbians are upset that we didn’t let them slaughter the Kosovar Yugoslavs and Bosniaks
serbia? I mean, I think we should do the exact same thing to Israel honestly
you don’t get it, he isn’t PURE anymore, he is stained and thus should be shunned from society!
literal death cult, they think killing enough Arabs and Israelis will bring the Apocalypse
Hamas and Hezbollah are firing any tubes filled with any propellant they can find. you want to reduce the capabilities of groups like Hamas and Hezbollah? don’t fucking go around running an apartheid ethnostate and annexing land on the basis of blood and soil.
they only work once you have the land
average starlink user, worse than arch users
that’s the best part, the brrrt never really worked well.
what boggles the mind is why people think cheap is good when it’s about war, when we have seen time and time again that cheap and simple gets dominated by advanced but more expensive.
However, I don’t think that the theory has been debunked in the way you are describing
sure, you have listed a few papers, and having skimmed some of them I’m a bit iffy to their relevance mainly as to what numbers they take as indicators what of and at least one had an issue where one of the more prominent indicators they picked is heavily influenced by other outside activity more so than the taxes.
but here’s the thing, if it was just wrong all the time, it would have predictive power, the fact that it sometimes seems to be correct, and other times it being counter to predictions or being mostly non changing means that it’s not a useful model, and a useless model is trash, and honestly I’m highly skeptical of supply side economics, it has produced relatively little in terms of economic stability, nor sustainability.
personally, I’m more inclined towards Post-Keynesian demand side economics, and unlike supply side economics, they have actually made predictive models that actually have predictive power
ok, so scientifically speaking “proof” is a mathematical concept only, physics doesn’t prove shit, chemistry doesn’t prove shit, no other science proves shit.
But economics, like every other science out there makes models, these models when applied to certain circumstances make predictions, we test these models by testing the predictions they make.
The more accurate the prediction the better and more relevant the model, the issue that economics has is that many people instead of looking at the actual science, take the fictional work and claim it reality, mainly because they believe some propaganda commissioned by really wealthy people, to keep their wealth. the Laffer curve is one such example because it allows rich people to invest into lower taxes and increased privatization.
The Laffer curve isn’t bad because Regan used it, it’s bad because it has a track record of not having any predictive capability.
Also, there exist mechanisms by what we punish tax evasion, taking the likelihood of tax evasion into account for the purpose of setting tax rates is self-defeating, in the assumption that any persons want the maximum amount of money for themselves would always try to evade taxes, no mater what the tax rate is.
no, it is propaganda. I mean, “Taxing at 100% also brings no tax revenue” is already a stupid statement, and is Tautologically contradictory, even more so in a progressive tax system (please look up what the even means, statistically believing in the Laffer curve also comes with a ton of other misconceptions about financial policy)
also some history to the Laffer curve, it is an unproven theory that basically always get trotted out by the wealthy to argue for lowering taxes, tho it ironically has been shown to have no predictive power whatsoever.
nope, I know that his was spread around everywhere by Russian sympathizers, but the reality is that Russia chose Bakhmut not because of its strategic importance but because they could supply it from both the northern and southeastern supply lines, the town is in a valley, its outside artillery range of the Russian and Ukrainian supply line Trunks, etc… what make the town special was the Russian propaganda because it was the one place they could adequately supply, and the ability of the UA forces to kill Russians in insane ratios
Zoning laws are perfectly fine to keep unused office space from being used as housing, it really is that the CEOs feel entitled to your very existence and want to be able to monitor you 24/7 to make you’re really working
but we have been complaining about exactly that, even before this whole thing started, yet the “paying people will make everything more expensive” crowd tends to be really quiet when these companies are bragging about record profits fiscal quarter after fiscal quarter as everything is getting more expensive at a record pace!
the American was not ready to hear what he heard
