I’m never gonna give up on quite space… well played btw
Because we Americans are easily swayed by propaganda, unfortunately.
I’m trying to understand what you’re saying. Are you arguing equality vs equity? For example that any handouts or bailouts regardless of economic situations or conditions is the same?
How are you defining wealthy/rich vs poor? Would it be fair to say that that at a certain point an item costing $5 is more affordable for someone who makes 100k vs 30k? Generally / statistically speaking.
Are you saying that because a person could earn more than a million dollars more over their career than a high school educated person that they’re rich? Or are you saying that a person who is college educated is already rich to start with?
Either way is confusing, so I’m hoping you’ll clarify. Seems a lot like you’re implying that a possibility is the same as having a million dollars in your bank account? Like just because I have lotto ticket I’m a millionaire even though the numbers haven’t been drawn yet.
Hey OP, if you’re feeling attacked maybe try to engage some critical thinking skills and the scientific method. There’s decades of established research and evidence that you can work on reproducing and proving it wrong. That’s the beauty of open information and the scientific method. I’m sure there’s an amazing opportunity for anyone who is able to show that decades of peer reviewed research is wrong.
Just saw it now… 😩
Whomever wrote that is pandering to the type of person that only reads headlines and does no critical thinking. You’re 100% correct and it’s dangerous to promote that kind of easily debunked misinformation. This has no place on here and should be downvoted into oblivion.
Fines mean legal for a price and it’s only effective if it costs more to pay it than the profit made from it
That is one way to view it. However due to everyone, in including blue collar workers, having their lively hoods threatened by AI we need to ask the question if were okay, as a society, for there to be more jobs eliminated than created. Are we okay with the current ways and (some would say the illusion of) the free market controlling everything? Are we okay with letting people suffer needlessly? Would you be okay with looking into the eyes of someone you know and saying “too bad that’s the free market baby!” Because it’s starting with the arts but it’s not stopping there. It’s only a matter of time before it will not need many warm bodies to do things. The knowledge works are next on the list and it won’t be long after that where manual labors will be impacted. This is all WAY before we even hit AGI.
I’m not saying that AI taking jobs is a bad thing. I think it is an amazing thing but we need to start embracing it as an opportunity for things to be more Star Trek and less dystopian hellscape. That means changing this mindset that a lot of us have and start asking ourselves how do we want the world to look in 100 or even 500 years from now.
HTH
Lol yeah, but why do that when https://conversations.im/ is doing an amazing job of making great software and running an amazing service? Plus with super easy and simple E2E it’s pretty damn secure and private!
I LOVE XMPP!
I’m still upset that it didn’t take off like email did. It is/was the best federated instant messaging platform ever.
However with things like discord and to a lesser extent matrix, I don’t see it ever making a comeback and being widely used. I think google dropping it and going full hangouts was the final nail in its coffin 😞
They would need to learn the meaning of consent first…
