Twitter has been dead for over a year. Well before threads. It started with the shadowbans and the tweaking of the algorithms to push media down our throats when all we wanted was cat photos and to talk about music.

Hard to convince people. The twittersphere has fractured into about 4 different places, and masto is fractured even further with different servers arguing in places (a bit like here tbh) over federation.

I’ve met so many. Before the Met scandal of rapes and sexual assaults I met a local cop who was in charge of patrolling the local hospital. He spent his entire time there trying to bed the nurses. Eventually he had to be moved as it caused some concerns from hospital bosses.

One of the lads I met a couple of years ago came across as really arrogant (not the same lad as my reply below). Then we saw his face in the local newspaper. He’d got upset at some girl at a house party and thrown a pint glass right into her face/eyes. Life changing injuries. 3 years prison sentence, probably due to be released soon. Girl is still cut to pieces.

Its more than pennies. When the compressor kicks in it’ll take 100-200wh a day just to balance the temperature out. In England thats an average of 50p a week, or £26 approx a year. You can get around some of this by using clear drawers like you often find in the bottom of the fridge as it will hold the cold in and stop the cold air falling out s yo open the door.

Keep all the raw meat at the bottom (if you’re a meat eater, obviously). Cooked meats, salads etc above then if something drips you dont contaminate the food.

I bought a bike here many, many years ago during the bus strikes. Used to cost me £40 a month on them to get to work, they were always late (and in turn made me late for work). Driving costs about the same or more as the buses here, but you get stuck in traffic as you cant use the buslanes. So for the first year I saved nearly £500 just by not using the buses. I also got to work early and lost a lot of weight.

I dont know why you’re getting so downvoted. You’re basically talking about something we’d expect in anything else that needs health and safety laws (eg when walking past scafolding, or having a handrail on a staircase). We used to have dog licensing in this country. I’m not that authoritarian in my ideologies, but I can see some real benefits in having such a scheme back, but also going further as having mandatory training, Police checks on security, etc… if not for the safety of the dog to prevent neglect. I remember seeing dogs neglected badly back on the estates in the 80s. It was fucking awful and its bad that it still goes on. Relying on private prosecution by people like the RSPCA isnt really appropriate when talking about life.

When the UK has had such a massive increase in KSI rates they have to act. As Gregorum said they can deal with more than one issue, even feckless fucks like ours.
