It implies something recently cropping up. The “trend” of the last thousand years is, like, your culture, or something. At some point it’s the norm and not an aberration.

Wait. There seems to be no correlation between loudness motorcycles and safety according to, like, every car site. I think I’ve just been told that so often that I believed it. Loudness is your “size” on a bike. If people don’t hear you, they damn sure don’t see you. I’m sure it’s annoying, but no more annoying than being run over.
