Was that cause of the cost? Didnt Elon come out claiming lidar was a “crutch” or something?

Asheville is in the mountains, one of the reasons it was such a big story is that no one expected Asheville to flood. I’m not surprised almost no one up there has flood insurance.
Isn’t it actually a precision driving technique to break with your left foot? Or isnthat just something I accidentally made up in my head?
That’s not even a swastika it’s a 45. It just really feels like it’s a swastika when you see the fanta fascist.
Nanowrimo is already in flames because of last years ‘groomer mod’ scandal. Why would they choose now to weigh in on such a controversial topic rather than working on filling all the staff vacancies, rebuilding trust in their community, and developing new volunteers to replace all the ones they fired and ghosted? All they’ve got to do here is keep their mouths shut and rebuild the damn organization and they can’t even do that…
Does it technically even need dirt? It looks like there’s some loose debris in there and plenty of plants can be grown hydroponically.
Yeah, not every man of draftable age was in a position to flee when the invasion started, and even if they were…what a shit list of choices. Join the poorly trained/outfitted army on a shoddily planned hostile invasion or leave everything (and often everyone) behind to go try and start anew in a brand new country you may have never been to before (or even one that hates you) with no idea if you’ll ever be able to return home.
So employees cost more than just their salaries (if they get things like benefits, 401K match, etc.) So you’d have to cut more than half of his total compensation, which I don’t think either of us would be mad about
A lot of American systems are very broken, including our vacation opportunities from work. We get significantly less paid time off compared to most European countries and it can be nice to have them spread out so that there is a chance you get the day off (not all companies here recognize things like labor day anyway).
“Relatively few people” may be the standard for your part of the US but in my experience PA, MD, VA all have mushroom hunting as very normal and popular activities.
Everyone remembers the peeing in bottles part of Amazon’s model but the way they turn through office staff is less talked about. Amazon’s business model is based on crushing their employees no matter their department, job type, or level.
Comcast once hung up on me because the system wanted to transfer me to a department whose phone system hadn’t yet be set up in my region…the system force transfered me to a number that didn’t exist and I was immediately disconnected.
I think the issue may have been less prevelant with traditional delivery drivers because there was less delivery going on before delivery apps took off. You’re also making the assumption that anything is done about gig workers someone complains about or gives a low rating too, it seems unlikely that these apps are doing background checks and other things traditional delivery drivers may have been subjected too.
Ok, but the alternative is knowing a nurse directly in charge of infants wants to murder them and still letting her go into work. You’re basically an accomplice at that point.
The Xenogenesis trilogy (Liliths Brood) by Octavia Butler. It examines what it means to be human and how much of us can be changed before we’re no longer humans anymore. It also made me examine how we treat other cultures/species through the lens of how the aliens treat the humans and how they are so convinced that their way is the right way that they don’t even question it until it’s forcibly shoved in their faces. It shows the ugly side to the violent human agitators while also eposing the ugliness of the peaceful alien “saviors”.
There’s also a side thread of connections are chemicals in our brain and we can get trapped by them and circumstance into a situation where we’re not always sure we’re happy/on the right side/have any agency.
They aren’t long books and even years later I still think about them sometimes.
Maybe. The EU commission may not care what the moldy tangerine thinks.
