Just switch to Zed and run a decent local model. If your vibe coding routine includes a loop through a roadmap doc or PRD then you can fill a few days working local models until Claude is back to fix their mistakes.

Actually coding is not as much fun as prompting models. It’s the difference between work and play. Prompting is genuinely a fun thing to do. I don’t do it for work.

Thats me these days, I’m now spending most of my day understanding the code AI wrote, because being new to both the company and the tech stack, I dont even have enough context to know what needs to be done and sometimes even how it needs to be done I can’t match the speed at which AI works, and the company won’t let me spend enough time to work at it on my own, so pushing AI generated PR’s is what my career has been reduced to before I could even establish myself as a experienced engineer. How am I supposed to grow in this field if I don’t directly work with the code anymore, and what gates the promotion process when even new grads have access to the same AI models, is there even going to be a career in a few years or will the AI bubble burst and we go back to the way things were or at least back to a reasonable level of AI usages

Actually, there’s a whole lot more swearing and pounding of the desk. Fists shaking in the air and screaming, “Anthropic!”
