Yeah honestly so glad that corn resurgence died after a couple posts. Whenever I see that shit start up again I just hop off Lemmy for a couple days lol. Don’t see what’s entertaining or funny about scrolling through the search results of a grocery store webpage. And I was one of the ones at the beginning that thought it was funny… for like 2 days.
I do find it annoying but it’s also a bit of a protest against this community getting overrun by Americans ranting about American politics which is also really annoying

Why not… post content you want to see? (Not you in particular, but the people that do this)
I get where you’re coming from but it’s more about the moderation of this community I think rather than the personal flavour preferences of shitposts.
Like American-centric shitposting, fine, we’re all used to that unfortunately, but straight up US political news is definitely not relevant here and should be removed. Since that doesn’t happen, the community takes to basically wrecking the place for a bit to remind everyone what our goal here is (shit posts and memes). US politics may be shit but there’s a million other places to post that stuff
