Most Americans still think their taxes are too high, according to recent polls, even after last year’s tax law fulfilled several of Donald Trump’s tax-related campaign promises.
In fact, a new Fox News poll indicates people are more upset about taxes than they were last year.
The findings from the survey, which was conducted in late March, are another sign that Americans are on edge about their personal finances as the U.S. experiences a spike in inflation and sluggish economic growth.
Other polling finds that frustration goes beyond personal tax obligations, with many believing that wealthy people and corporations are not paying their fair share, while others worry about government waste.
Any money going to this regime is directly supporting the dismantling of democracy and everything the founding fathers stood for. I resigned from my job in part because of that. I am luckily in a position where I can do so, it’s not an option for all, but I wish blue states would have the balls to withdraw tax revenue from these fascists.
Tax relief is reserved for the rich ones, not those people who still have to work (gasp!) for their money!
It’s not that my taxes are too high. It’s that the hyper-rich don’t pay enough.
I don’t mind taxes! As I’ve said repeatedly, civilization is expensive and can only be paid for on the installment plan. I’m happy to contribute my bit to keep things running. But when the rich won’t pay their fair share…well that just fuckin’ pisses me off.
Well, that, and the rich fucks are very fucking obviously dumping our taxpayer money into their own accounts while overtly manipulating the market in ways that people not affiliated with the regime would be prosecuted for, in addition to executing the most pants-on-head idiotic geopolitical strategy in modern history, simultaneously starting a bunch of completely unnecessary and fully unjustified wars for no reason other than to distract from credible and pervasive allegations of lurid sexual abuse and pedophilia. Oh and they’re pushing theocratic idiocy too. And concentration camps. And summary executions. And we can go on, but you get the idea.
I fucking hate that my taxpayer dollars are paying for all of this. Genuinely makes me want to seek citizenship elsewhere and so I can renounce my US citizenship.
First year i ever owed money
Imagine that, the Temu version of Hitler can’t live up to his promises. (not that he intended to try to start with)
This just tells you how little people know about taxes. Most people’s taxes have gone down due to Trump. Mine have gone down significantly. Trump voters don’t care. Many people voted for him purely to pay less on taxes. I know many people who don’t care about abortion or trans people or gay marriage or immigration or health care or anything else being batted around by politicians. They voted for Trump because they would have a slightly lower tax bill. That is the only thing they cared about. They didn’t care that brown people would be hurt, only that they made more money. These same people now have rising costs directly due to Trump that offset those tax gains, so they again think taxes are too high. They are not thinking, “we shouldn’t spend a billion per day Iran.”
Am I happy to be paying less? Kind of. I’d rather pay more and have that be used to give health care to people who can’t afford it, but this government would only use it to fund another half trillion in defense spending. So I’ll take my lower taxes to pay shit off so I can move to Europe sooner.
Most Americans still think their taxes are too high
Not defending Trump, but when has this ever not been true?
1912?
