Go to another country and break the rules then surprised Pikachu when you get charged with breaking the law. Laws are not the same around the world and your “God” won’t protect you from your own stupidity.

To be fair, a lot of Americans have gone over there and preached Christianity. That part may be true. Same as Americans go to China and get caught trying to convert people.

I think they’re foolish but I don’t necessarily agree with that. Freedom of expression should be universal imo

It’s quite naive to say that missionaries are just “expressing” themselves. It has been well documented that they use predatory and coercive tactics to take advantage of the poor and uneducated. Missionaries are colonialist, which is undefensible.

There’s freedom of expression, and there’s actually recruiting. No one in a half-reasonable part of the world will care if you wear a cross necklace - express away!

But trying to bring someone into a cult or trick them into commiting atrocities, major lifestyle changes, voting habits, etc all on the basis of your imaginary friend telling you to? Naw fuck that.

Freedom from religion should be weighed here too. If you want to preach, do it in a church where there’s a reasonable expectation for it.

Can’t say I feel bad. These people fund the most vile campaigns worldwide. Campaigns like the one that pushed a law in Uganda to punish homosexuality with the death penalty. So… whatever. The taliban can do whatever the heck they want with him
