Protesting the direction of the country under Donald Trump, people will gather Saturday in the nation’s capital and communities across the U.S. for “ No Kings ” demonstrations — what the president’s Republican Party is calling “Hate America” rallies.
This is the third mass mobilization since Trump’s return to the White House and it is expected to be the largest.
It comes against the backdrop of a government shutdown that not only has closed federal programs and services, but is testing the core balance of power as an aggressive executive confronts Congress and the courts in ways that organizers warn are a slide toward American authoritarianism.
You people literally founded your country because you had a beef with kings. How does going back to the spirit of what forged your self-proclaimed “greatest country on earth” equal “hating America”?
Or is this something I’m just too Canadian to understand?
The issue is that a good third of America is now supporting a fascist megalomaniac that wants to be king.

Today, we still have the right to protest. And this has a good chance to become the largest protest in American history.

There will be 2700+ protests. There will be far more protestors than cops. Which is the whole point.
They only need to show ONE protest the deepest cruelty to frighten off any one else from sticking out their neck.
Hating the state and the Republican party is not the same as hating America. The Republicans and Trump do not own us and we have absolute zero obligation to have any loyalty to them.
Quite to the contrary, trump is anti American in everyway, he is antidemocratic, anticonstitution, anti limited government. He spits in the face of everything that America stands for and made America one of the best nations in history. He’s also a criminal and a thief and a liar, and an authoritarian who thinks he is above citizens of the U.S.
I’d have just stopped at Trump being a Russian agent, but everything else is true too.

Whattup Canada. Republicans here can’t help themselves when it comes to doublespeak. They usually write up bills with titles like “Protecting Children’s Lunch Choice In School” (hyperbolic, but not by much) and it ends up being something wretched like declaring cafeteria staff to be illegal and kid’s lunches can only be purchased with Trump Coin or some bullshit.
