ABC is goosestepping now.
They were goosestepping collaborators when they capitulated to Trump with Stephanopoulos.
Charlie Kirk may turn out to be the Poland radio tower for US Civil War 2.

See, I’m someone who can’t stand Jimmy Kimmel. I find him both unfunny and very annoying as a person, and I never thought there would come a day where I would actually defend him vigorously, but here we are.
This is truly inexcusable. This is the most blatant violation of the first amendment possible. This is a clear cut example of the government coercing and colluding with corporations to censor a private citizen on a private show for comments that are perfectly legal. He was only censored because MAGA morons got triggered by a statement that’s not even controversial. Even IF it was controversial, that’s literally the whole point of free speech. It’s to defend offensive, controversial, and unpopular opinions from government persecution.
See, I didn’t care much when Colbert got cancelled because it seemed like it was a business decision, sure, whatever. But this? This is MAGA crossing a line that should never be crossed. We’re starting to enter into actual tyranny territory from this administration. The only MAGA conservatives left are either slimy opportunists or blind loyalists, so I’m not holding my breath on them holding themselves accountable. However, I am hoping that everyone else stands up and takes a stand against this because the consequences of this are very, very serious.
Forgive me, but I’m just trying to wrap my head around how many people have been sleeping and still are.
Tyranny is already here. It’s been here since they started taking people to concentration camps. Like how do people not get that? The line has already been crossed and then some. Tyranny is here and will continue to reign until you and everybody else who is asleep or groggy are willing to wake up and do the hard but correct actions.
I am amazed and shocked every time the line is crossed.
It is crossing it farther and farther as well, with increasing similarities to other authoritarian lead countries in history.
My shock is not one of ignorance but defying normalcy.
However this stuff has been great for people who didn’t pay attention much before or believe stuff before. This time the administration is barely trying to sugarcoat what they are doing.
I think of “the line” as the event horizon around a black hole. You can recognize it from a distance, but it’s not like there’s a physical barrier you go through when you pass it. That means that if you were actually falling into the hole, you wouldn’t necessarily know when you’ve past the “point of no return.” It’s all just more freefall (and eventual spaghettification) from your point of view. Only those on the outside, looking in, could see that you’re already full and truly screwed.
I think we passed the event horizon long ago. Anyone talking about “going back to normal” (as I’ve seen some politicians say) is depressingly naive. There is no turning back - the only way out is through.

Thanks for waking up.
Is your country great again? Was so difficult to vote for her instead to avoid this fascistic nightmare, wasn’t it?
That slogan “Make America great again” made us Germans very uneasy from the start, cause we remember the last guy who promised us (very literally) to make Germany great again.
Where do you think Trump got the idea for it?
I know that Trump secretly admires moustache guy. But I honestly don’t think he is well-read or intelligent enough to realize it’s exactly the same slogan moustache guy used. With Trump, willful ignorance is always the most likely option because malicious intent requires a degree of intellect he does not possess.
I honestly don’t think he is well-read or intelligent enough to realize it’s exactly the same slogan moustache guy used.
Ivana said Trump kept a book of Hitler’s speeches by the bed. He definitely knows it’s the same slogan.
Well, I still doubt he read them all.
As a German native speaker, I have listened to almost all of the publicly available Hitler speeches, and I found it incredibly hard to keep paying attention. It’s as bad as Mein Kampf - just weird sequences of relatively incoherent segments of his twisted world views. Very hard to follow.
And Trump is well known for his extremely short attention span. I would be very, very surprised if that man managed to read even a single Hitler speech from start to finish in one sitting.
Underestimating him is how we got here.
No, underestimating the capacity of a large amount of idiots to ignore or even welcome all the flaws of this unspeakably horrible person and elect the fucker nonetheless, that’s what got us here.
Secretly admires?
Of course he got it from Hitler, who got the idea from America’s “Manifest Destiny” philosophy. It’s fascist turtles all the way down …
I’d assume it was Ronald Reagan since it was also his slogan in the 1980’s.
It’s pretty clear that Trump is a fascist piece of shit but this game he is playing has been going on a lot longer than people think.
Ronald Reagan’s campaign.
He just stole it from Reagan’s campaign.
You deserve it for refusing to vote for a viable candidate. You don’t get to blame people who rejected a genocidal candidate, blame those who called genocide lesser evil.
Maybe when everyone is on the same page about rejecting evil, something will change. But no, you’ll downvote and feel self righteous about it as you cheerlead for another fascist (Newsom).
Have you been following the situation in Gaza? The idea that Trump was ever the “lesser evil” was always a dangerous delusion - especially when the alternative was so clear.
The U.S. two-party system leaves little room for ambiguity: if you didn’t vote for Harris, you effectively enabled Trump. Now, the world has to grapple with the consequences -rising far-right movements, rollbacks on LGBTQIA+ rights, the gutting of climate policies, and a surge in anti-immigrant rhetoric.
This isn’t about partisan bickering; it’s about accountability. The choice was straightforward, and the fallout is global. How do you justify looking away when the stakes were this high?
Y’all! This isn’t ABC - this is conservative Sinclair and Nexstar Media Group!
@Immarsano@lemmynsfw.com nailed this one by reading the article.
Nexstar Media Group forced ABC’s hand on this by saying they would run non-ABC programming on all their local TV stations they own. They’re in the process of getting FCC approval for a $6 billion deal that would give them ownership of 265 local TV stations in 44 states.
Meanwhile, Sinclair Media, which also owns tons of local TV stations, isn’t letting Kimmel’s rerun on Friday be broadcast anyway, instead showing a CK tribute show. So they were likely also going to do the same to ABC and just hadn’t said anything publicly because they don’t need deal approved right now.
This is the media version of Red-Stating, where state legislatures were slowly turned by the GOP which gave them the power to Gerrymander Dem-held House districts away and turn them red in 2021. How do you stop a global juggernaut liberal media company? You marginalize them by buying up all the local affiliates and stations that still make up a large part of their market. You buy up everything that sits in between the viewer and the media itself. Once the media company withers, you shove in your own programming as gaps open up.
Well, it’s ABC who don’t want to stand up to it
Because micky mouse doesn’t give a fuck about anyone except the dollar.
Watch the monologue before viewing it becomes a crime. He didn’t even make fun of Saint Charlie.
He does make fun of Lord Trump though. Which, as we all know, is illegal.
President McDonald’s.
We’re now talking about this instead of how trump is a pedo.
This seems kinda important too though
Sure seems like “minor celebrity” is the threshhold at which anyone gives a fuck.
What? The issue is that government is directly silencing someone by employing threats through FCC not that it’s Jimmy Kimmel
It was an issue when it was schoolteachers losing their jobs and students being expelled.
But now people give a fuck about the issue because minor celebrity.
Because a big name can actually rally resistance
Because no one else is worth anything in the US.
omg take your defeatist whiny attitude to your anime pillow.
There’s a word for what is happening: Gleichschaltung
The Germans really do have a fucking word for everything, don’t they?
We do, because it’s very easy to construct new and rather specific nouns in the German language.
The famous “Schadenfreude” is nothing else but a combination of “Schaden” (damage) and “Freude” (joy).
Wanna mildly insult someone…
- by saying he’s not man enough to take a cold shower? Call him a “Warmduscher” (warm + person taking a shower).
- by saying he used to be the stupid kid at school who always forgot his gym bag? “Turnbeutelvergesser” (gym bag + person who forgets)
- by saying he’s too scared to swim in the center of a swimming pool? “Beckenrandschwimmer” (pool’s edge + swimmer)
There are countless synonyms like that, it even used to be some kind of trend inventing new ones.
In short, I think we Germans are expert “Wortneuschöpfer” (creators of new words).
There’s an English idiom that states; “If it’s stupid and it works, it’s not stupid”.
Something similar to that can be said about the German language’s ability to form compound words.
Now, could you please humour me and let me know if there is one word that could describe a person who is too afraid to swim in the centre of a pool, can only take hot showers, always forgets their gym bag, and takes joy in the misery of others? 😆
Ah, I’m afraid that’s where even the German language reaches its limits.
As soon as you try to convey several separate notions in one word and you’re forced to use “and” in it, it breaks the word. A fine example is the word previously mentioned in this thread:
“Rinderkennzeichnungs- und Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz”
It’s a law (Gesetz) on the assignment (Übertragung) of tasks (Aufgaben) concerning the supervision (Überwachung) of cattle identification (Rinderkennzeichnung) AND the labelling (Etikettierung) of beef (Rindfleisch). Hence the “und” in there.
In other words, German compound words are very specific and usually don’t carry more than one meaning, I’m sorry to say. :)
We all grew up with free speech. That’s what the USA has always been about. Now you have an admin who threatens and bullies taxpayers.
Damn, but honestly I can’t boycott Disney any more than I already have.
If anyone needs help setting up a home server with sonarr, transmission with a VPN via docker and Linux, I can point you to some good resources.
Someone needs to DM to remind me (if you’re interested), but I built a pretty clever stack with all the arrs, a failsafe vpn network tunnel, dynamic dns, deluge, Jellyfin, jellyseer, reverse proxy. The works.
It’s dead simple to use (my mother runs it no problem). There is a semi-manual setup process, but a few mildly tech literate friends got it running in a couple hours.
Built for Windows, all deployed on docker. Works fine on Linux/Mac also.
The reason I’m not sharing it in this comment is I never intended to share it publicly and want to ensure my repo is sanitized of any PII.
If you’d like, hit me up sometime.
The setup for sonarr would be great. I use torrents, and can never seem to get past the indexing step.
For sonarr I just followed the wiki honestly for getting it set up.
What exactly are you referring to with the indexing step? Do you mean setting up a indexer so sonarr can search for torrents?
This is your reminder that Disney owns ABC. Christofacist will not be any stretch for them, and they have a king background in war propaganda films.
BOYCOTT ABC!! And send angry letters to cowardly execs who did this!!
people still watch network TV? That’s that thing where they force to to watch something at a set time, then play ads?
Point of order. ABC is owned by Disney. Make of that what you will.
Everything makes sense now. Attached: Mickey marching with his swastica armband
Now Jimmy can go NSFW on a different medium
The first amendment is just a suggestion now.
Imagine one of the stars of The Man Show being considered opposition to one of the most misogynistic administrations in our recent history.
