West coast dude that has visited all over the US. I’ve had BK/McD’s, Whataburger, Jack in the box, In-N-Out, Carl’s Jr, Smashburger, Sonic, Shake Shack, White Castle, Five Guys, A&W, and maybe a couple more I’ve forgotten. Best for me, hands down:

Culver’s butter burger with cheese and everything on it.

    Double teen burger from A&W.

Has enough meat with the double patty, and has all the toppings like onion, pickle, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, etc.

You have to specify A&W Canada. The US doesn’t have Teen burgers and they’re generally inferior.

Five Guys is the only one I would be okay with. McDonalds is probably the worse, followed by wendys being 2nd worst. BurgerKing is… um… its like good for like your first try, then subsequent times it taste worse and worse each time you got there.

I don’t eat a lot of burgers so I probably don’t know what a “good” burger taste like, I grew up in an Asian household so I don’t exactly eat a lot of “western” food for the most of my life (like… relatively speaking, in comparison to the rest of the US).

Out of the big three, the whopper by far.

For smaller but still top 100 chains, locally would be A&W, non local would be In-n-Out

What is the third one for you? Obviously McDonalds and BK, but not sure which would be the third one.

I’m assuming you’re American because of In-n-out. I’ve heard A&W is really different between Canada and America, here in canada the burgers are salty af, drenched in sauce, the buns somehow manage to stay dry af, and crazy overpriced for how shitty it is.

Crazy talk. A&W in the US is ass. I don’t know what’s going on with your local A&W franchise, but I’ve never had anything but a great burger. Outside of local places, It’s my go-to.

Only one I can eat, impossible whopper. I wish they would go all in and use the superior black bean burger instead tho

When McDonald’s gets an equivalent, they’re going to make so much money off of me

    It sadly no longer exists.

Back in the day there was a restaurant called Lick’s in Toronto. They had an assembly line of people with loud 50s music and them singing whist they assembled your order. It was so much fun.

They had burgers that were actually burgers compared to any other chain. You could actually taste the meat! My favourite side was called tater’s and cream. Fries topped with yummy white sauce that was slightly sweet but creamy with real bacon bits smothered on top with chives. They also had an amazing turkey burger.

They had other unique items on the menu but I forget them.

A local joint which I will not name, but they’re basically like shake shack. The food used to be way better than shake shack, but unfortunately now it’s just on par with shake shack. (Still great though). The fries however are perfect.
