House Republicans authorized a new rule to prevent Democrats from probing the Trump administration’s scandals until October.

Amid mounting scandals out of the Trump administration, House Republicans voted Tuesday in favor of a rule that creates hurdles for Democrats looking to investigate it.

Departments across Trump’s government have been rocked by scandals over a variety of issues: Elon Musk’s glaring conflicts of interest while gutting the federal government, Cabinet officialsdiscussing sensitive military plans with civilians via a third-party messaging platform or members of Congress benefiting as the White House turned tariffs on and off.

Democrats have tried to shine light on these and other scandals using what are called “resolutions of inquiry,” which can tee up what are essentially special votes over whether to provide information from the president or executive officials.

Wasn’t this the same set of Republicans doing these endless investigations on Bengazi and someone’s laptop?

How have Americans not killed any of these guys yet? This is open corruption in assisting their first dictator. You all need to nip this in the bud before a complete takeover happens.

Republicans are the biggest piece of shit lying hypocrites on the planet. All they ever do is lie and fuck over the American people. At EVERY SINGLE TURN.

Sounds like a good time to leave the country while you still can.

Disclaimer: I’m from Europe, where we could really use a few more sensible people.

I’ve looked into moving to Iceland but it seems like they don’t actually want foreigners moving there and taking their jobs.

Unfortunately, I can’t say anything about Iceland. But in Germany, where I come from, skilled workers are urgently needed. It’s a whole spectrum of jobs: from hospitality to elderly care to engineering to physicians to pretty much all IT jobs (and many more).

There really is a shortage of workers in a wide variety of areas, which makes it all the more incomprehensible to me that we also have a MAGA-like party, the AfD, which constantly rails against foreigners. However, they are despised by everyone in even halfway larger cities and don’t play a role there. Significantly, this party is particularly popular in eastern Germany, especially in rural areas where there are hardly any foreigners. It’s really absurd, but I’m afraid morons like these can be found in all rural areas around the wold.

Of course, I don’t want to make any false promises and unfortunately I have to say that there are a lot of intolerant assholes in Germany too (the AfD, a darn Nazi-Party was at 20% in the last election and I’m afraid that they will get even more in the next one). But there are also a lot of nice, open-minded people and, as I said, a lot of open jobs. Maybe you’ll find something with us.

I would be delighted. That much is certain, even if it’s not worth much.

Iceland is very small, and very limited with land and resources, so they have to maintain a sense of sustainability. BUT they do like workers to come over and work in the coffee shops and tourists spots along the Ring Road for I think 6 months or maybe it’s a year or two. But yeah, outside of that, yeah they aren’t big on outsiders actually living there cuz it’s a pretty small tight knit kind of country. But the people are very nice and lovely.

Seasonal work isn’t too hard to find but I would be living there as an IT worker or working remotely.

Chuck Schumer said his only job as a Democrat is to ensure that the Democratic party stays pro-israel. Cory Booker voted in favor of the last trump appointee. These people are not on the left. They are conservatives that wear blue and talk about things they don’t vote for.

The Old Guard/Corporate Dems don’t care, they will sit idly by as the shit hits the fan again and again and again, even some of them voted for Trumps appointments. Dems in Congress are not going to save us, only the people will. But most of us aren’t educated enough to know and understand what’s going on, hence why we’re in this whole pickle…

Technically, at that point the midterms are a little over a year away.

Delaying any investigations means the Democrats will be forced to investigate and campaign at the same time.
