I knew that New York field office was going to show up the moment I saw “FBI” and “Giuliani” in the same headline.
Something is rotten in the FBI. Hopefully most of the rot is concentrated in that place and not spread throughout the whole organization.
The New York field office was involved in leaks that lead up to the Comey memo during the 2016 election. After the Anthony Weiner laptop was found, they started giving interviews hinting that Hillary was going to be under investigation again. Comey’s memo was supposed to clear that up, but instead it just muddied the waters more. They got their wish, of course. Hillary lost her sizeable lead, which given the unfair Electoral College system ultimately meant a loss.
[T]hey also ordered, in early 2022, that the FBI informant who had provided the best intelligence on Giuliani’s activities be “closed” — cut off from further FBI contact. According to the statement, that order came from the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force or FITF, a headquarters-based unit established by Director Christopher Wray in 2017 and charged with combating foreign influence.

yeah this will get the rats stirring… there is a lot of corruption born during Trump that’s still trying to hide and survive… stuff like this gets them running around…
